Aka Apollo and Rocky's trainer. He had such an integral part in the movies. His talk with Apollo in part 2 and later Rocky in part 4 are some of my favorite scenes in the entire series.
-
Tony also had a small role in "The Shining"

PIP.

THROW THE DAMN TOWEL!

Who's gonna make all those weird movies with Johnny Depp now? :D

He was Apollo who had his talk with Apollo in part 2?
Wasn't it Carl Weathers that was Apollo?
I'm a huge fan of Stallone but not so much the Rocky series. Only saw the first one and the one with Hulk Hogan and the one with Dolph Lundgren. So I may be out of the loop.

Apollo's trainer
Ah, I see. He was Apollo's and Rocky's trainer.
A simple punctuation error changes the entire meaning of the sentence.

Being a fan of Stallone and not the Rocky series is like being a fan of Jordan but not his Bulls years.

Not really. Love the Rambo series and consider him such an extremely accomplish individual and admire how he lived his life. He was poor as shit when he wrote the first Rocky and was offered over a hundred grand for the rights to the script. I would have been all over that. But he believed in himself and took the risk.
It's like I am a huge fan of Pacquiao and Ali though not so much a fan of boxing.

Ok.

I know many getbiggers will rave about his role in Rocky and the Shining, but he was truly great as the groundskeeper in Rudy.

He was really the true hero of the series. Never underestimated Rocky, even when he was against him. And believed in and supported Rocky when Adrienne didn't.

THROW THE DAMN TOWEL!
And why was Rocky given the job of throwing in the towel of Apollo's fellow Brew who's been with Apollo his whole career. Rocky should have been in his corner but not in charge of Apollo's corner. That was silly...
-
Isn't his name "Duke" in the Rocky films?
Listen, no word of a lie, I've always loved that character. Guy was stoic and always there for his boys. Both Apollo and Rocky.
Fucker even went to Siberia and lived in a barn while Rock was training. Key pep talks. Check him out in Rocky Balboa, STILL in the trenches, in some grimey-ass boxing gym, getting down to business.
And renting snow cats in The Shining during a blizzard.
Hails.

Tony "duke" Evers
And his pep talk in Rocky 4 can get me really pumped for a hardcore routine.

That wasn't Burton. It was Forest Whitaker.

The phone call scene in "the Shining"
that hebrews apartment that could hear thoughts, with that naked lady pic, always reminded me of that ladys place on 'A clockwork Orange' with all the dicks

Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure it was Bill Duke. He was equally amazing alongside Arnold in Terminator 2 and True Lies, but there's something special about the chemistry between him and Sean Astin
