Great questions Dave! Thanks! No you can't fall off the edge. There is several hundred miles of ice known as Antarctica that prevents that. Regarding airline pilots, they can't just fly wherever they want this is why they don't run into this ice.
If the earth is spinning at 1,000 miles an hour, how do airplanes land? It would be physically impossible to land an airplane with the earth spinning like that. The earth is immovable.

I understand what the belief is, but I don't understand how air travel from say Texas to Russia to New York would not cause at least the edge of the firmament go be exposed. A flat earth would make that kind of travel impossible unless the pilots are in the dark....

It's interesting because when I first heard the idea of "flat earther's" I thought they were insane.
A quick Google search of their ideas makes them seem somewhat logical. Basically, and Wiggs or Falcon or anyone can correct me where I'm wrong, the idea is that we have been taught idea of a globe/spherical earth from the moment we could learn. So a round earth is indoctrinated in us, much like a flat earth would had been common knowledge to people prior to the last 500 years.
The FE's contend that our idea of gravity (how its holding the oceans in place and allows people in America and China to not fall of the face of the earth, because they're on opposite ends of the globe spectrum) is also wrong, that gravity is redefined to explain a round earth.
The idea is also predicated on NASA and space exploration being 100% false. And if that's the case then their ideas would begin to make sense.
However I didn't come across anything that would explain simple things like GPS and satellites being used.

Inability to square sunrise and sunset with flat earth was the only thing that I could see wrong with flat earth theory. I'm not convinced of it, but don't have a basis to dismiss it either. Inability to square sunrise and sunset with flat earth was the only thing that I could see wrong with flat earth theory. I'm not convinced of it, but don't have a basis to dismiss it either. I've read that forum and some if their ideas are:
- gravity doesn't exist, instead the planet is accelerating"upwards" at 9.8 m/sec squared.
that's ridiculous. Such acceleration would need huge amounts of energy after just a couple of days.
- the moon is inhabited by shrimp-like creatures that emit light.
. again, they can't be serious. Also, they can't explain moon phases with a flat earth hypothesis.
- they think there's a huge conspiracy and there are ice walls preventing things from falling down the edges.
. there's zero evidence for this. They are just speculating.
Science doesn't work like that, you can't just trust your senses and claim the earth is flat. Our current theories, although incomplete provide us the bases to,make accurate predictions. GPS systems use relativistic effects to make calculations (thanks Einstein), without it they would be off.

It's interesting because when I first heard the idea of "flat earther's" I thought they were insane.
A quick Google search of their ideas makes them seem somewhat logical. Basically, and Wiggs or Falcon or anyone can correct me where I'm wrong, the idea is that we have been taught idea of a globe/spherical earth from the moment we could learn. So a round earth is indoctrinated in us, much like a flat earth would had been common knowledge to people prior to the last 500 years.
The FE's contend that our idea of gravity (how its holding the oceans in place and allows people in America and China to not fall of the face of the earth, because they're on opposite ends of the globe spectrum) is also wrong, that gravity is redefined to explain a round earth.
The idea is also predicated on NASA and space exploration being 100% false. And if that's the case then their ideas would begin to make sense.
However I didn't come across anything that would explain simple things like GPS and satellites being used.

It's more difficult than one would think. I've been through it. You want to yell and tell the world until you realize people think you're nuts then you're more careful with it. You look at people differently as well, including your own family. I wouldn't change it though.

If the earth is spinning at 1,000 miles an hour, how do airplanes land? It would be physically impossible to land an airplane with the earth spinning like that. The earth is immovable.

Probably been mentioned in this thread, but what is the reason for the powers that be to trick us into thinking the earth is a sphere and not flat? How does it benefit them or anyone if we don't know the earth is flat? Is it just one large practical joke?
Only thing I can think of is to undermine the christian values and hence starting the anarchy and degeneration of human species.
Remember the roundness of earth was revealed to humiliate the church.

The only way, in my perspective, to clear things, would be a South Pole expedition, to try to find either the south pole or the so-called dome, or the other continent claimed by admiral Byrd.
The expedition could not rely on modern GPS tracking, since GPS is controled by the same establisments that confirm the earth is round.

These evolution and big bang theories only survive in a heleocentric theory world. It's why the flat earth topic brings out the fight in people.

It would be cool if most of the "established" things/knowledge would be a joke and the mental "tin foilage" canvas the truth as it would reflect life's bias towards humorous tragedy.
Though, to me it seems that some of the established models are as bullet proof as our capacity to grasp reality - it's a kind of sand box game where even if you're right you're still pretty limited.
Even if inter dimensional beings exist and they would, in honesty, spread some knowledge it would still be debatable if their senses, instruments and belief systems are capable of reporting truth.
