"A pro-gun activist has been accidentally shot in the back by her four-year-old son.
Just hours earlier Jamie Gilt, 31, had boasted about how her child had been taking part in firearm safety training.
Police say the injured woman told them he had fired the gun through the back of her seat while he was sat in the rear of the car in which they were travelling in Putnam County, Florida."

Please, we must all learn to discern "attending" some course and "graduating" the course.
It's a crucial difference that slips by mostly undetected!

She was reckless.

She was reckless.
She has a good heart though. Goes to church whenever she has the time on Sundays.
-
Her facebook post is a good laugh: "My right to protect my child with my gun, trumps your fear of my gun". I do support the kids right to blast his mum through the tits for being a monumentally stupid bitch, though. Hope she faces negligence charges.
Well, shit.

How are we blaming the mom here?
So she exercised her right to own a gun and now SHE'S the perpetrator?
This kid is a career criminal and solely to blame. There are weapons around us everyday but not everyone picks up a kitchen knife and cuts people up! Lock the kid away for life.
-
Anyone who has kids that keeps a loaded unlocked gun in their house deserves to have their rights stripped. It's proof that they are too stupid to handle the responsibility.

Do you also think locking the doors will keep our burglars???!

They will never learn...

No! I'm 100% pro gun with common sense. But safety comes first. No need to keep a loaded gun around the house with kids! Keep a locked gun close with ammunition nearby should the situation arise.
-
It's not about the guns it's about the stupid people we know this.

So basically you're pro gun with a naive view on human behavior

I'm a smart man but I'm afraid I cannot say the same for all of us here in America. Not all of us have common sense, it must be a recessive gene.

Yes the usa is know for housing many stupid people.

Kwon_2 would have had a goddamned field day if they were black, LOL!

It's the educational system, they dumb it down so more students pass, then those people go on to breed.

If the mom had a gun, then she could have protected herself from her child. Now, if the person down the block had a gun, he/she could have protected the mom and child from each other. Now if the person two blocks away owned a gun, he/she could have protected the person down the block, as well as the mother and child.

At that close quarters she could have maced the kid or tazed him.
-
She's lucky the kid wasn't a better shot. 45ACP at that range is usually a done deal.
-
Kid needs to spend more time at the range that`s for sure.
-
Stupid bitch, I hope they take her guns away. >:(
-
Classic.
A gun is dangerous weapon, and thats the bottom line. The fact that she would promote that her kids, and in this case a 4 year old, are comfortable around guns is about as intelligent as teaching children to be comfortable around moving traffic.
It's odd because I'm willing to bet anything that they drill this kid on the proper way to carry a pair of sissors, holding them blade down to your side and don't run with them in your hands, yet they probably would never leave a pair out where he could get his hands on them, knowing there's a chance he won't remember the drill.
This woman leaves a loaded gun in reach........
Ban stupid parents.....

This situation should put our society in context, what's more dangerous guns or bad parents?
-
I wonder if it was loud inside that car? Haha!
-
As a bonus, WYHI? I say yes.

Terrible gun owner, gives the rest of us a bad name.
If it were me I would have returned fire and sent a few hollow points down range to teach junior a lesson.

yeah i was shocked it was a 45 and she walked away.
I'm guessing she just got winged. Hopefully she's recovered enough by Tuesday to vote for Trump in the Republican primaries. Defeating Rubio by a margin less than 12 point may hurt morale.

"Those Americans and their guns. They need to take them all away from them."
Because that worked so well for them. ::)
I have a chl but im a little conflicted about guns. We have a right to bear arms but this was originally to protect us from the government. A gun is going to do shit againist missles and drones.
You look at the UK and they ban guns now only the criminals have them.
So I guess the best course of action is some where in the middle?
-

Thank you for realising this. It's my assumption that Americans simply do not see the futility of hand weapons because they have not experienced war. And before anyone starts blabbing about WWII: yes, US soldiers did fight there. Yes, they sustained casualties. But the US itself has never been invaded. It has never had the entire population experience massive bombing raids, enemy fighter planes overhead, enemy tanks rolling down its streets. Those European generations that have lived through this know how utterly useless a handgun or even a rifle would be in such a situation.
-
I'm a smart man but I'm afraid I cannot say the same for all of us here in America. Not all of us have common sense, it must be a recessive gene.
So the irony is that this law creates a less safe country

correction
only a small percentage of criminals in the UK have guns. a law abiding citizen in the UK probably has more chance of being struck by lightning than they do of ever coming into contact with someone with a gun.
firearm related death rate in the UK is 0.23 per 100,000 in the US it's 10.64. so nearly 50 times higher with a population only 5 times greater than uk.

Interesting that the article thoroughly fails to mention actual murder rates, just compares ratios.

Next time aim higher, kid.

Mommy should wear a bulletproof vest, with a nice cleavage underneath.
-
Clearly a sexist attack, 100% of the victims were women

We need more pics to confirm her hitableness.
