Title: Been told by my doctor to not lift
Post by: Papper on March 15, 2016, 12:27:36 PM
Had a minor procedure. And then he drops this bomb on me. No lifting, suddenly I have spare time several nights of the week and feel lost and confused about who I am.

I already feel like I am withering away. Also can't eat as much now, which is boring.

Thinking about introducing arm only days just to feel alive. Or should I get a real break from lifting instead?

Strange feeling this.

As I understood it for one or two weeks, until the stitches come out

So noting dramatic lol

Geez...that's literally nothing.

Just run in the meantime.

Good point. I'll actually go to the gym and run right now. The weather sucks so it'll be the tradmill for some "pick-em-up-endorfins".

Oh, I thought you meant for like months.

1-2 weeks is nothing. IF you consistently lift, may as well take that time off.

Cool.

But running in shitty weather is better than treadmill.

I had surgery about 6 years ago. I couldn't train in the gym for 5 days before it and 2 weeks after.

Best thing ever. I came back with no stress on me and started training lighter and slower, still to failure, easier movements to start. A week and a bit later I was ripped, as I was totally refreshed.

• Walk your dog
• Ride your bike
• Read a book
• Binge watch something on Netflix; those ESPN 30 for 30 films are good.  http://espn.go.com/30for30/volume1
