Title: My back.
Post by: da_vinci on March 16, 2016, 06:05:37 PM
Has always been a weak point. Currently I can take a pic and look at it without a horror that I used to some years ago, like yeah it's decent, but I still find it very difficult to develop my lower back. Kind of Strydom syndrom. Any suggestions?

I'm not huge here, but this is on 300/test/wk, for about four months and a month clean (or something along these lines, I've lost the count tbh). Will start some light test after a few weeks once again, don't want to get big, I like this weight, not bloofy, just need to get tighter everywhere and it's all set for the summer.

EDIT: whatever. That thread about Kais back ruined it for me. I'm a sad panda once again.

work on your lat width and thickness

be consistent

each back workout you could 2 exercises for width ie chins and reverse grip pulldowns and  2 rowing exercises for thickness

do you dead lift?

also do u always just use test. on its own?

have u ever added another anabolic?

You asked for it, here comes every back-width piece of Broscience the world has ever created.

Blurry ass picture, but you're obviously tall, which makes back "width" almost impossible. Good delts, arms and especially traps.

Post a better pic.

If you removed 50% of the pixels from that pic you'd have exactly 5 pixels remaining.

I'm not really keen about posting clear pics on the net (old habits of privacy), tbh the last time I posted a pic of me anywhere was quite long ago.  Yes, 6'1 is my height. Never did traps in my life!

old-school-lifter>I do reverse grip and rowing exercises, with a shitload of weight I must say (but a good form). The last pillar that is left is deadlift. One core exercise I've never really done seriously yet. I may give it a try (funny thing - from a side view, my back is very thick, lots of muscle, from all the heavy rowing, but from the back it dissapears. Maybe just structural issue here.).

Mostly test for the past few years. I love test, my body is very anti-aromatising naturally so I handle it very well. Throw in some eq or phenyl here and there when I get it going to have additional fullness, but I've learned to look very acceptable on test only. A mix of very strict diet and heavy lifting. I'm not huge, as u can see in this pic, but I'm tall and this is decent size anyway, but my goal now is to keep the drugs as low as possible and achieve a very balanced physique, as tight as possible without loosing too much lean muscle. I'm working towards it very slowly.

You're asking about developing lower back, but don't do deadlifts?

Start deadlifting and report back in a few months.

Pops in once every 6 months to drop a virtual roundhouse/upper cut combo then heads back into the woods.

Remember to arch your back when your girlfriend is gaping you with her strap on.
That works for me.  8)

Deadlifts with a wide grip should do the trick.

The best advice so far. Will do this after a deadlift day.

Have been always sceptical about them being able to develop lower lats, but wll give it a try.

Deadlifts, revers hypers.  Until you've done them for some time, you can't really expect to have much of a back.  Especially lower back, but they add size and density to your entire back, and deadlifts will develop the traps a well.

Damn, never saw reverse hyper machine in my life. That looks very cool.

Can't see the pic.
Your lat development will be determined geneticaly mostly. Some exercises will help but won't do miracles. Upping the dose will also help.
