Watching this clip, you really can see how much visual inspiration and cues Francis took from this, when making Bram Stoker's Dracula.

There is a standing dispute between cineastes on whether a "great scene" is the product of a creative director (e.g., auteur theory) or by the skillful practice of "mimetic verisimilitude" or the seeming contradiction of a 'truthful imitation' by an actor wholly possessed of his character (cf., Plato's Ion). Who can truly say?
However, there is no denying that some scenes simply belong to an actor as a definitive statement of his craft. Here, for example, is a great scene. One in which the actor exhibits a perfect measure of equinenimity to showcase the crown standards of thespian art: control of body, mind, and appearance. Oh, Branch is in it, too.

Greatest after school special TV scene in history. Starts at 26:30. Affleck should have got an Emmy for this role. Absolutely spot on.lol. For anyone who hasn't seen "a body to die for", it's worth watching the whole 30 min clip.

haha Arnold looked fkcing sick there. I mean in a good way.
Heard he was actually really sick on the set :D stomach flue or something. which mede him lose a ton of fluid and minerals. Hence the extra ripped up lean faced look he had there. Was actually perfect for the role.

Undisputed. Nothing else even comes close.

I have always found this scene in boogie nights to be extremely intense
The scene is very very loosely based when the Wonderland Gang robbed nightclub owner as well as gangster Eddie Nash
I feel all the actors(Wahlberg, Reilly, Jane, Molina) all did a fantastic job of portraying a group of addicts high/jonesing, all on the edge of exploding.
Ironically the song before Jessie's Girl is Sister Christian and my mp3 player has 2 songs in exact sequence which was kind of ironic
