I know what he means; ...  HE IS WRONG THOUGH

When is an actor, trying to make it in sports he's only going for the failure route hurt his image, make a fool ,and hurt the team/association (he is playing for ) ..

Acting is for the most part, a matter of opinion ...Will Farrell is an successful comedian actor, while a lot of people think he sucks and is not funny at all and wouldn't pay a penny for his movies ..

In sports, say baseball,  if you're a 330 Batting average player, and I'm a 275, you're  better than me.. plain and simple

From the business point of view, you can have a low budget film hire a popular athlete as main role (who cares if he can acts) and make some good $$$$$

Also  in motion pictures you have several genres where acting skills are not really the main thing .... like action heroes blockbusters filled with special effects ..

An athlete might not win an Oscar but who cares? ...whoever has produced or directed a movie wants the movie to make $$$$ and pack theaters at the end of the day .

WoooSHHHHHHHHHH

Absolutely.

A "genius" like, say, Robert "Thumbbanger" DeNiro acts opposite some unknown 12-year-old girl, and he is equaled.

Happens all the time.

When some untrained kid or two-bit rapper can step into a major film and hold his own, acting is not some great talent.

More people can act decently than cannot. Even with very minimal "training".
