Welcome to Vegas, the city of Sin. Yes, you're in a shitty area. You guys ever notice why I never talk about the touristy shit in Vegas is because it's for tourists. I stay away from all that nightlife shit. It gets old and will wear you down and eat you up.
Good food in Vegas, good views, and plenty to do not on the strip.

For your information, us Las Vegas critters seldom go down to the STRIP for the same reasons you mentioned .....but the main reason is that there are too damn many tourists there.
But all these out-of-towners appear to be having a great time ... the drunks included.
And when we visit someplace else, it feels like everyone is sleeping 24/7.
But here in Vegas it appears that everyone is wide awake!

Here's a tip. Vegas is a lot of smoke and mirrors. There are a lot of 10's walking around that can distract you and make you miss out on the million of 7's and 8's looking to hook up. First few times I went to vegas I ended up with nothing but my dick in my hands. I got suckered into chasing the 10's who are there just to get drunk for free. Once I learned to ignore them and look at the thousands of chicks that are still super hot looking to fuck it was easy peasy. On any given 3 day trip I'd bag at least 2 chicks, sometimes more if I'm on. You need to look past the glitzy façade and don't fall for the top tier chicks or you'll end up just getting played.

BODY .... A couple of recommendations ...... Stuff tourists have no idea about.
If you like great Baby Back Ribs .... give ELLIS ISLAND a try. I like them and these are the best I've ever had. But don't expect anything fancy within Ellis Island though.
ELLIS ISLAND is one block east of the Strip just off FLAMINGO Blvd..
For a good and quiet hour or so .... take your girl to The ENCORE and have a drink ABOVE the LAKE OF DREAMS (to the right of the escalator) and watch the auto-dynamic presentations starting at 7:30 PM when it gets dark enough to light up this outdoor presentation ... with a new presentation every 30 minutes... the best of which is the huge green frog above the waterfall singing Loui Armstrong's "It's a Wonderful World".
Each presentation only lasts about 5 minutes, but each is worth seeing.
If you want to see something close to what Las Vegas used to be .... visit WILD WILD WEST on the west side of the Strip. Some call it a dump but for me it's close to old time Las Vegas which brings back a lot of old dumpy memories.
On most occasions you'll have more free drinks to cover the money you lose, but I've ALWAYS managed to stumble out of the WWW with more cash than when I walked in. The machines are relatively looser than those on the STRIP and ..... I do know when it's time to quit.
And In n Out is just across the street!
Got more but you may be the type of individual who wants to pay $40 to enter a high end nightclub and order a table with a couple of Patrons priced at $1,000 each and invite the passing ladies.
But be aware that you'll most likely be closing out the end of the evening with a $4,000 charge on your credit card. (I've seen that happen on more occasions than just a few!)
Or pay the same to enter a high end pool party and purchase the Drone Option which flies over the pool and sprays the wadders with $1,200 bottles of Champagne Moet & Chandon, Dom Perignon 2003!
This does occur, but I have yet to see it happen.
Best advise of all is to be SMART and know the games you will be playing as well as the house who is offering them to you....
You may not win, but you will lose less if you know what the hell you're getting involved with when you sit at a table or throw them dice.
And last and wisest of all ..... Don't play anything in any casino that does not pay 3-2 when you get a Blackjack.
Play there and ..... you are being fleeced!
Have a good time and do your best to see what LV life inside and outside of the casinos is like off the Strip. You might enjoy it.

COFFEED, Yes, the porno passers were still present when I was on the Strip about six months ago.
They tried to 'outlaw' that but I kind of recall that they were found to have a constitutional right to do so unless they stepped on private property which I think means casino owned property .... and that most likely does not include the sidewalk.
I have no idea how much they make or if they work on an hourly pay scale or purely by commission.
By the way ... Prostitution is not legal in Las Vegas.
The closest house of 'ill-repute' is in PAHRUMP which is about 45 miles over the mountain.
The cabbies will gladly take you there because it is along haul and the house also pays the cabbie for transferring you there.
At least that's the way it used to work.
There was once a plan to open a 'cat-house' for the ladies .... meaning that in this case the 'ladies' would be then guys who would cater to their lady clientele.
For some reason you might be able to find on this here internet, it never did work out.
Some industrious individuals are presently thinking about a night-club where the patrons would be able to challenge other patrons to a one, two or three round fight set up like a professional boxing or MMA fight.
This would be an ideal nightclub for various GetBiggers who love challenging other GetBiggers in an effort to prove just how tough they really are.
Friday and Saturday night fights would offer major cash awards.
And one guy fighting two 'ladies' might be promoted during lazy afternoons.
Most likely won't get liquor license approval though!
