Title: NBA PLAYERS LOSING MILLIONS!
Post by: stuntmovie on April 07, 2016, 11:21:28 AM
It's remotely possible that one of two GetBiggers could be making 10 to 100 million within the next  20 years or so  ......

So heed the following and get prepared ....

PS .... I'm usually not too interested in this type of information, but I ran across it on some site and thought you GetBiggers would be interested and possibly even elaborate on it.

Latrell Sprewell blew his entire $100 million earnings after years of living life lavishly caught up with him.

After failed business attempts, Derrick Coleman was forced to file for bankruptcy in 2010, owning $2.9 million to multiple creditors.

Allen Iverson earned $160 million throughout his career, he managed to lose it all due to his gambling problems, the 50 person crew he supported, alcoholism and legal fees.

Vin Baker  ….   After poor financial decisions and tax problems, he lost most of his $97 million career earnings.

Shawn Kemp earned over $90 million during his 14 year stretch. But with seven kids by six different women, what money he didn’t pay to them went to his drug-related legal troubles.

Dennis Rodman …Even after making $27 million over his career, Rodman struggled paying simple bills and was on the brink of depression.

Eddy Curry …. Major financial issues with family and friends and attempts at quick solutions lead to him losing his $70 million fortune and a personal loan he took out with Allstar Capital left him with a 85% interest rate.

Rick Mahorn … With intentions to help the city of Detroit, failed investments in properties lead to Mahorn filing for bankruptcy in 2010 and being forced to sell his championship ring.

Kenny Anderson … Anderson earned $60 million over a 14-year career but being a car enthusiast, owning a huge mansion in Beverly Hills and child support payments for seven kids took it’s toll. He lost it all after a rough divorce from Tami Ronan, who celebrated immediately after.

Jason Caffey …. Caffey bounced around a lot during his career in the NBA and made $34 million in the process. He tried to file for bankruptcy in 2008 so that he could avoid paying child support to his ten children from eight different women.

Gilbert Arenas …… Arenas isn’t close to being broke yet and that is due to his $111 million contract he is still receiving from the Orlando Magic. It is, however, dwindling quickly due to a personal shark tank, some 2,000 pairs of shoes, a seven-bedroom mansion and crazy gambling expenses.

Eruc Williams … earned $40 million throughout his career. He says he is now homeless and broke due to the divorce from his ex-wife.

David Harrison ….. earned $4.4 million. In 2013 he was seen working at McDonalds after he was unable to pay for his son’s happy meal.

More coming up .....

MAXX, Albert Einstein never went bankrupt, but Abraham Lincoln did!

As well as many top notch Hollywood stars who are in the doldrums now.

A few years back a family friend living in Los Angeles saw the need of a demanding 'financial mother' and set up a business for newbies entering the movie and TV making business.

She realized that many of these new and young 'stars' in the business would waste their new found income on cars, broads, drugs and booze in a few shirt months ... so she was a CPA and somehow managed to sign up highly paid industry individuals and place them on a monthly  allowance that both mutually agreed upon so that that highly paid individual could have the remaining balance of his 'check'  placed in risk-free, profit making ventures.

She was great at this and none of her associates ever required bankruptcy when their million dollar contracts expired.

I am surprised that the NBA does not offer similar services to their highly paid athletes.

What is a risk free profit venture exactly? No such thing.

Give a 24 yr old kid 20 million bucks, fame, the adoration of men and the attention of women and there's a good chance he'll go nuts with it.

MOS, I totally agree!

In fact I  personally know a young kid who had a monthly income of $32,000, but that monthly income has now dropped to ZERO until he reaches the age of 35 .... thanks to his grandfather who paid attention on how those funds were utilized.

That first month he purchased a Rolex, some gold chains, a Mercedes (financed), and top floor hotel room suites for weekend parties.

Three months later ..... no car, no Rolex, and no more fancy parties.

And he has no idea where those gold chains went.

He's a personal trainer now and can't wait until his 35th birthday.

Iverson is far from broke, his former advisors looked out for him by spacing out payments of his money throughout the coming years. He may be broke now, but he has money coming in for years.

Curt Schilling and Lenny Dykatra know how to blow the through the dough as well.  Different sport and they're white, but were rich athletes that pissed it away.

I think he invested in a video game that was just not gonna be a very good game and he kept pouring millions and millions into the game.  :-\ I still think he might have a better career in politics!  :D

For most of these people it's like winning the lotto... but if you're skilled at the sport you keep winning.

They live like the typical lotto winner and when the money stops, as with most lotto winners, they lifestyle continues.

Shilling actually is a complete buffoon... not for investing in gaming, but having no idea how to run a business.

Shilling went out and hired millionaire writers and artists to run the story and production of his game. (Both R.A. Salvatore and Todd McFarlane were on his payroll)

Games can be big money, but you have to put a lot of money into it and your game has to be a hit.

The average cost of a AAA video game is about 20-25 Million dollars. (More if you're releasing a game every 4-5 years like a GTA)

Curt's company put an estimated 120 Million dollars into that game which wouldn't be a problem, except you need to sell about 3 million copies to just break even with that money, and he sold less than 1/2 that.

It was a disaster.

It's happened to most BBers when they turn pro.   They get that $10 mil deal and voila... it's all gone in no time.

Yeah but Curt had a vision just wasn't a good businessman

Pity that it Amalur came out too late. Just too many competitiors that were better, and a satiated market at the time.

It was better than the Sacred-franchise though

It's not just how these guys spend their money, it's how they invest it too.  So many want to be "businessmen"  So they open up restaurants or bars or clubs or other high risk ventures and lose tons of money.  I wonder if Mashburn really owns 100% of those franchises or he's part of an investment group that owns them.  That makes more sense.

Yep.  Get a vasectomy on 18th birthday.

Have fun, make your money.

Get vasectomy reversal on 40th birthday.

It's literally the most brilliant thing any promiscuous athlete (or person) could do.   Well, aside from say, using condoms.

HOLMES! Thanks for that interesting input concerning the production of video games! I had no idea it was that expensive.

Once again .... one of my family members was an "actor" in the production of one of those video games and then got hired to play one of the roles within the forthcoming movie based on that same game.

I have never played a video game except for the game with he blue fox who runs through complicated mazes and if I knew the name of that one, I'd mention it here.

Most likely my 4 year old nephew will remind me if he evert reads this board.

Doctor Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik

You hear it as Doctor Robotnik and Doctor Eggman at times.
