Title: Anthony joshua... real deal?
Post by: local hero on April 10, 2016, 03:42:01 AM
going through the american boxing forums theres alot of hate on our AJ, he will walk through every heavy put in front of him, mark my words, now you yanks are talking up parker or oritz , they will both be put to sleep.

for some reason everyone is holding fury up as some kind of top tier fighter, he's big and awcward but no boxing genius as is trying to be made out, he has the worst chin of all the top heavies and will be done in one or two rounds.

im hoping aj v parker next just to fuck off all the "experts"

AJ is the real deal. He has great speed and power. He got rocked in the last fight but recovered well. Last nights fight was like watching Tyson vs a overweight first timer. AJ was very good. He will destroy Fury when the time comes. If Wlad disposes of Fury this time we may never see that fight though.

I have vlad by ko next time, I think wilder and aj would be very dangerous prospects for vlad, theyd both come out swinging and he couldnt control them, he doesnt like fast hands does vlad....

bodybuilding related as he has one of the best physiques in sport right now...

fury often refers to him as just another robot bodybuilder, he says this with brutal self loathing of his hideous skinny fat joke of a body, I feel sorry for these flabby boxers when they awcwardly peel at the weigh in next to this black adonnis ( semi homo )

I have Wlad by KO 5th next time. Then possibly Olympic fight if allowed and then retirement. I think he would make shit of Wilder but would be pushed too hard against AJ.

anthony is good but hard to say how good he is

the hw's overall are very weak , joshua didnt even start training in boxing till he was 18

if he came up in the 90's he would get pulverized.

he can hit no doubt.  he has superior african genetics and fast twitch muscle fibers

this is because the uk has seen fury fight his way up, I m not the only one in disbelief that he is an undisputed champ, the same fury that was almost ko'd against teeny tiny cunningham...

He looks very good but still is yet to be tested properly despite being a champion now. Incredible specimen for sure. No homo.

Martin has probably overtaken Michael Bentt as the worst ever HW champion. Shocking performance from him.

the hw's overall are very weak , joshua didnt even start training in boxing till he was 18
if he came up in the 90's he would get pulverized.

Bernard Hopkins didn't start until 17 and has become an all time great.
And while I don't disagree that the 90's was definitely a stronger period for the HW division, there were still plenty of mediocre boxers who had successful careers during that era and plenty of average boxers who won HW titles. What makes you think Joshua would get pulverized?

Tyson Fury is 6'9 with pretty decent skills.

People seem to always understate the importance of size in a fight.

Aj is 6'6 and much more powerful, more athletic, better movement and much better boxing skill... If fury was same bodyfat % he would be much lighter than AJ... I just can't see anyway that fury beats him as he isn't a huge puncher either, just a big awcward c.unt.

I think Fury gets underrated since people don't like his personality. His boxing ability is decent and when you add his size to the equation, he can be tough to beat.

As things stand, I'd have a fight between him and AJ as being 50/50.

I disagree. His boxing is average, his chin has proved to be poor and his power is nothing to write home about

I don't think he's great and I can't see him holding onto his titles for long. However, I think since he is generally disliked, people just highlight his flaws and ignore his strengths; which include good handspeed, good stamina, a solid jab and underrated movement and footspeed. That's not forgetting that he comfortably switches stances during his fights and the fact he has bags of heart.

He is an awkward fighter (a good strength of his). He is huge so will be tricky for anyone. If Klitschko actually threw a few punches in the last fight he would have crumbled Fury. This is where AJ will do well against him - he is very quick and has very good power. He will land a lot and Fury doesn't like to be hit.

Daniel Dubois dismantled the former two-time world champion Anthony Joshua in front of 96,000 fans at London’s Wembley Stadium to defend his IBF heavyweight title for the first time in emphatic fashion.

Joshua always was very arrogant, a showboating bragger and showoff. He thinks of himself as God's gift to humanity. Good thing he lost:

Lije most braggarts, it was a facade.  Very insecure person. Andy Ruiz crumbled hi. And he never got his confidence back. He's been shaky ever since. I thought it would be important for him to KO Andy in order to avenge the loss and prove it was a fluke. But instead he played it cautious in the rematch  and has been a 'scared' boxer ever since. Not so much scared as in affraid,  but scared of losing, lacking the confidence he had in his first 22 fights when he was crushing everyone. He's completely lost his confidence.

The truly amazing thing is he hasn't done anything to fix it. You'd think he'd at least learn to keep his hands up since he can't take a punch.

every time he got hit he would smile at his opponents like he wanted to be friends
He lacked courage when it mattered

He won't recover.

He's the reason why cash cows duck, could have avoided Usyk Vlad Povetkin and DDD, but he took the fights. Kudos to him.

Can he recover?

Sugar Hill worked with his uncle and Vlad who was also chinny, stiff and robotic. Going forward he needs to hire Hill and jab and clinch just like Vlad until an  KO opportunity presents itself.

Cash flows in the heavyweight division when he is on top.

DDD is a train wreck. Put him in with a puncher like Zhang or Bakole and he'll need suspenders when they take the belt off of him.

Daniel Dubois looked really good and a throw back to a Tyson/Frazier type fighter. I hope he gets a shot at the title.
