WTF was he on to get THAT big in his early 40's??
-
he was monstrous for sure
i really thought he would place higher than 10th at the olympia
-
He used a small dose of test and some Deca. Maybe some clen the last few weeks to get extra ripped.
I totally believe up until the 1993 Mr.O he was natural. He was natural in Pumping Iron and in 1992 it was all muscle memory and muscle maturity kicking in. But he wanted to win the first Masters O and thought Robbie might have started juicing too so wanted that extra kick.

He was hovering around 270 pounds in the late 80's/early 90's when he decided he wanted to compete again, so in 1991 he began training hard and by 1992 he had bulked up to 315 pounds while training for the 1992 Mr. Olympia and had gone down to 298 for the actual competition. He said he would come in even heavier in 1993 and so he beefed up to 335 pounds in the offseason (the pics I provided) and showed up onstage in 1993 at 318 pounds and should have placed much higher (at least 7th place). 5 days after the compeition he was 326 pounds, but then leaned down to 298 for the 1994 Masters Olympia sure he was going to take it, but Robbie had more of a complete package than Lou. He got so discouraged that he retired after that competition and lost all of his size again.

^^this^^ I've had my ear to the wall on this issue for quite some time now, and I totally concur..

I truly believe this. Until 1993, the only performance enhancer he was using was a hearing aid.

I've heard this fact as well.

Lou's best look was still in the Hercules movies.

Best genetics ever. Shame he's such a d!ck.
-
LOU has got to have some of the best genetics size/shape wise for someone 6'2 and over ever in full blown mode.i mean even at 260/275 he looked awesome.

Lou was still pretty decent looking in that one sitcom he appeared in every once in a while. Can not remeber which one, maybe everyone loves raymond or something on that level. still looked pretty jacked

King of Queens?
YES
-
YES
They show that in Germany too...dubbed of course
-
Revenue from the sale of photographs must have been up that year.
-
I always thought his arms were pretty well balanced and full, particularly as everyone is saying, in view of the size of his frame
(where do I Paypal the $20 upload fee to?)

I heard that Lou experimented with HMB prior to the 1993 Olympia. Yates also was on HMB that year. HMB is basically an advanced version of deca. So it would've been overkill if he tried to use traditional deca during his contest prep.
-
The vascularity that Jayson Cutler could only dream of .
WooOSHHHHHHH
-
Tall guy with lotsa muscle. But he wasn't 340 contest shape. Dream on.
He looked horrible at his last Olympia's.
If he had to qualify like the rest it wouldn;t have happened.

Uh... yea he was 340. They had a scale in the pump up room and there's a photo with Big Louie weighing in at 340.
But he was holding 50 pound dumbbells with faint, salty tears in his eyes as the echoes of daddy tormented him... "Never feel sorry for yourself. You just gotta keep coming back stronger."
After which he quickly ripped out his hearing aid and wiped away the drying tears before demanding whoever just took that photo "You owe me twenty dowwahs!"
-
Haha nightmares of Matty swinging 20 buck notes before his eyes and calling his a loser will haunt him until his dying day.

This is MY take on the whole Ferrigno drama:
When I was a tender 15 year old, I was in my favorite book store and saw this on the magazine shelf... I KNEW I wanted then
to make working out with weights a part of my life, I even STILL have the issue in a plastic cover!!!
His father, Matt loved Lou, he might have been nagging and protective BUT he loved him...
He needlessly sued his OWN brother and Mother for running a business called "Ferrigno Fitness" selling machines and Weights, etc...
AND... when Lou's father died, just before he died, Matty (father) saw the Special Edition of Pumping Iron where Lou spoke badly of his father, leaving his dad to die broken hearted...
SO, I no longer see LOUIE as an inspiration, not just another bodybuilder as MOST of us have a sense of honor/respect...

You look at your arms like you're admiring, right?
You're admiring what you're going to show them and then go.....
Boom! Like you're saying "Take a look at this hunk of man."
Something like that. You try it now.
Look up. That's right.
That's it. No, down here, Louie.
I told you. Look at your arms down here.
Look at both arms.
That's it.
Atta boy.

It sounds like you used to stay up all night reading the muscle books. Louie would be proud

^^
No, not all night, at that point in my life I had a lot of homework in High School, then at 18 joined the Army.
BUT, if you were in that era Books and Magazines WERE "our internet", as there was nothing else- and we had to get our training advice, etc... from them.

Lou Was seen in the movie pumping iron taking anabolics/androgenics right off his bedroom dresser, on film in the movie!
-
I concentration curled a 185 pound dumbell right in front of Lou ferigno at golds gym Venice and dropped it and stared directly in his eyes and said that's how you do it!!!

Ferrigno Sr. dwarfing Louie.

Movies? No.. His best look was in HERCULES (1983), filmed in 1982. The one he did in the later 80's was far from his best look. Watch Cage 2 and tell me that doesn't annihilate his 270 physique from the late 80's version of Hercules he did.
1st pic is Hercules and the 2nd is Hercules from the late 80's. Last is for his training for Cage 2 (1994)
-
Ferrigno Sr. dwarfing Louie.
A couple years later at 310 pounds
-
Lou living large in the early 90's at 335 pounds
-
I've seen Cage 2 and he doesn't look that impressive on the screen.
Bigger than the '80s sure, but bigger ain't always better.
-
Notice the prescription bottle and the bottle behind the glass of water!

I wish some old timer would break the silence and tell us what those bottles are.
There was less manufacturers back then, but even today a lot of us can identify product packaging from the big 90's supplements.

To my knowledge, big Louie was the first to expose his stash on video. 40 years later and they're still doing it. Fuckin posers

The others are obviously insulin/HGH but I think this Phil Heath shot is just probiotics/relish/whatever

Maybe you prefer his smaller leaner version like he had in Cage 1 which he did around the same time as the second Hercules movie. To each their own.

Let's see this photo of Lou at 340 in contest shape. I highly doubt that.

I think you're forgetting the dude was 6'4" with a 60 fucking inch chest, 23" arms and actually had legs in the 1990's as opposed to the skinny ones he had in the 70's when he weighed 270-280 pounds. 335 pounds wasn't inconceivable. Ronnie went up to 330 pounds at 5'10". Nasser went up to 330 pounds at 5'11". Dorian went up to 305 at 5'10". Dillet went up to 330 at 6'1". Lou was 6'4" and MASSIVE in 1992/1994. Did you not see the multiple pics I provided in this thread?

See the rest of my post.
The film was hotly contested after the photographer would not cough up the Jackson.

Would '92 or '93 Lou beat a '75 Arnold?
Interesting question......I really don't know. Or a 1974 Arnold, his best ever ?
Lou looked weird in the 90s, so maybe 74 Arnold would prevail in the end..?

You're dead on because a '74 Arnold is superior, but a '75 Arnold (although great) could be beaten.
Here's a weird one: I think a '93 Wheeler beats a '75 Arnold, but not a '93 Yates yet I think a '75 Arnold beats a '93 Yates.

Now you are dead on. In 1975 people would have dropped their jaw at a 93 Wheeler, but they would have run in terror from a 93 Yates.

Stop lol It's " multi-vitamins "
Exactly - it can't have been anything else, as Louie has always been against steroids as you'll see from the clip below. He believes that 'bodybuilding is the safest sport in the world'

This thread has got to be a couple grand in Louie's bank account by now.
