Title: short bulking and cutting phases
Post by: SquatsRule on April 16, 2016, 05:51:56 PM
I hate dieting. I normally stay in shape during the warmer months and gain weight the fall/winter. Lately, I've been thinking of doing something around six to eight weeks of training for mass and then six to eight weeks of cutting. Any of you train this way? My theory is shorter diet so I keep more muscle from the mass phase.

This is good idea but Training is usually the same for cutting or mass gaining with muscle mass being the only goal. The only difference in cutting/bulking for me is the diet and the addition of cardio 3-4times a week.
In pure bulk season I'll eat a surplus until I get blurry then cycle calories back down until desired level body fat is reached then i increase food again. Keeps body fat in check this way but have to accept some fat gain with mass gain as well. This approach will keep u leaner year round without having to diet your ass off

Yes, I train the same way year round. I don't train for cuts. Sorry for the confusion. Thanks for your reply.
