Wouldn't it be nice if we had a flat tax? Everyone paying the same percentage with no deductions. The annual tax form could be figured out by anyone and completed in 30 seconds.

It would take too much power away from politicians.

Yes, and it would remove a powerful incentive that keeps poor people on the democrat plantation: other people's money.
