Tracking for something around $20 million with reader predictions on this site averaging $19.2 million (the lowest being $10 million [see below]), the nine-years-later sequel finished it’s opening weekend with a miserable $6.47 million. Yes, you read that correctly, only 32% of its tracking number and along with that a “B-” CinemaScore, which could put this one out of the top ten after only one weekend. No word on the actual budget, but word is it’s around $65 million… best of luck and don’t go expecting Sin City 3.

The Sin City sequel -- nearly a decade in the making -- debuted in 8th place with an estimated $6.5 million, well behind industry expectations. The first Sin City opened to $29.1 million back in 2005 and went on to make $158.8 million worldwide. The sequel will be lucky to make even a fraction of that.
