I'm dating a woman who works for government funded environmental research agency. She was telling me that a female colleague of hers is an expert on sea turtles and was doing research in Hawaii collecting samples of turtle shells. The shell samples are used to determine if there's pollution in the ocean. Apparently, this woman met a guy she liked and wanted to stay in Hawaii, so her boss created an office there just for her. I just wanted to let you all know your tax dollars are not being wasted. :D

Yet still they all get pensions being ex gov workers. Pisses me off when they collect their pension and get another job and double dip.

At least it's not a new republican with their 6kids , tax 'refund' buying a new Kia , all the while paying $65/month rent in a 4bedroom with the 'dude that sell the hard across tha way'

As a government worker I can tell you what you say is true. Not 99% but close to 50%.

It's a good thing we turned healthcare over to the government.
I want them running as much stuff as they possibly can. As a matter of fact, I'm fine with having my taxes raised to pay for all the "free" stuff they want to give away.

When you say "created an office", are we talking about renting office space for 1 out? Because that's not exactly breaking the bank.

As a government worker I can tell you what you say is true. Not 99% but close to 50%.
Been around a lot of government and was one for some time. (It's been almost 10 years since I was) and I'd say the percentage is closer to 75%.
