Has anyone ever had success bringing up their calves?
If so, post the routine.

Mine are pathetic, but it's almost a self fulfilling prophecy. They suck and are hard to bring up, so I don't work them. :-\

it shouldn't be any harder than any other muscle group. Maybe your anatomical expectations are not realistic. Maybe you just need to lean out more. Or, maybe you're just genetically screwed :D ;D

Of course heavy as u can. Calves take a lot of abuse. Hit heavy and high reps. If you're really lacking use the weider priority principle and hit them first every workout. U can work calves nearly daily. 16 sets minimum.

Upright rows are the key to bigger calves. Just look at Wolf, bigger by the rep!

No special routine, I just changed my technique for standing calf raises. Instead of starting the movement with feet parallel to the ground and going up all the way and back to parallel. I start with my heel as low as it will go (stretching the calf) and then back up to parallel or slightly higher. Movement is slow and strict. After a set of those my calves are hurting so much I'm keeled over in pain and can't do anything for about 5-10 seconds until the pain goes away.

An Asian guy at the gym/rec center in college always wore those. He had zero calf muscle. I doubt their effectiveness to add size.

I think mine actually got smaller when training the fuckers directly, at the very least they never grew any more than not training them.

My calves suck but I've managed to add half an inch by slowing down and resisting during the negative. I work them twice a week, three exercises, 4 sets each.

I have. Routine is boring and same old everyone does, endless standing, seating and machine calf raises.
