The guy lost 40kg in 6 months eating nothing but potatoes.
A Melbourne school teacher who vowed to only eat potatoes for an entire year says he has lost more than 40kg on his radical diet.
Elwood man Andrew Taylor, 36, launched his Spud Fit program six months ago to improve his addictive relationship with food.
He says he has yet to cheat on the diet even once.
“I am proud to say I have not even had a single bit of anything that is not potato this year so far,” Mr Taylor told 9NEWS.
“Basically I make mashed potato, boiled potato or baked potatoes, and put a little bit of herbs and spices and maybe some tomato sauce or barbeque sauce.”
Mr Taylor consumes between two and three kilograms of potatoes a day, provided free of charge by his local grocer.
From his starting weight of 150kg, Mr Taylor says he has lost more than 40kg.
Despite warnings from dieticians that the carbohydrate-heavy diet could come with health risks, his doctor says Mr Taylor’s health has actually improved.
While the full toll of Mr Taylor’s radical diet on his body is yet to be revealed, he stands by his decision.
“I’m not bored of them at all, I still quite enjoy potatoes actually,” Mr Taylor said.
“More important than anything is, I just feel amazing.”

Im not sure if a diet of only potatoes will provide adequate micro and macro-nutrients .. let alone phytonutrients/anti oxidants and fibre
-
This is exactly what a "calorie is a calorie" can do for you too. Epic results, he looks to be about 8 weeks out of contest shape. Just needs to add a few BCAA's, and reduce calories by another 300. :D

330 lbs -90 lbs = 240 lbs. in 6 months. Not bad for your average person. A little over 3 pounds a week.

The strength of this is its simplicity. All diets come down to willpower and determination. This allowed a fat fuck to have a simple rule, follow it doggedly, and achieve. There is a tremendous amount to be said for that approach.

Dude would lose 30 more pounds if he just invested in a razor and got rid of that body hair
-
So, he tried to exercise everyday for 90 minutes, and eats nothing but potatoes. He gets 70 grams of protein daily from potatoes. He gets his fats from potatoes. He's lost 40kg in 6 months, and looks....... uhhhhm....... :-\.
If he were to have eaten a diet of meats, vegetables, and potatoes consisting of the same amount of calories, would he look any different than he does now? ???

Looks like absolute shite

Not according to blood work. His doctor said his blood work improved after the weight loss.

well your argument is that potatoes have everything you need to sustain human life, i refuted your argument...
-
This diet is nothing new and has been done before and in the news with pretty much the same result and not surprising. Potatoes are a vegan approved food and vegan diets do lack vit B-12 but like Be There said no biggy.

Fuck me, I made a comment, go back and read it, I provided no evidence to back up the comment and as such it does not fall under the definition of "argument"
Go and find out if b12 is essential for life and then try and formulate your "argument" again

Using deductive reasoning I can conclude that you are not too bright or you're ( most likely the case ) just an ignorant dude who thinks he knows everything, and cannot handle a challenge ;)
