Dorian Yates at the 1996 German grand Prix Prejudging. This is not the old video that has been on YouTube for the past few years. That one is from the Finals. This one is from Prejudging.
Looks like he is carved from stone. I would rate this version of his physique behind 1993 Mr. Olympia (better arms) and probably tied with his look at the 1995 Mr. Olympia. Either way, Dorian definitely was a true BEAST.

Beset lighting ever.

His only errors were over dieting for shows. And training far too heavy as he dieted in excess.
-
Dorian had horrible structure and lack of arms, and and chest!!!

Thank you for reaffirming your ignorance.

Fucking beast. Awesome condition. This is the Dorian that was missing from the 1996 /1997 Olympia. Ronnie was bigger but Dorian is the best conditioned monster ever. WOW :o :o :o :o
-
Best lower body of any Mr O imo. Just insane calves and great quad separation, hams were always on point too.
-
Best front "relaxed" pose ever. Symmetry sick ass fuck!
Front latspread best in history aswell!
Dude was solid as fuck!

Yet we are still schoomzing over him decades later, one of the best structures ever , when you see the pics from his 1st show he stood out a mile

Yes -- Very True.
Dorian = Man
Rest = Boy
When on stage at his Peak.
Never really a Dorian Believer From The Pics I had Seen...
Until I Saw Him On Stage.
Pics Just Don't Do Him Justice.

no one beats dorian from the back, his side tricep hot was pretty dam good to
i still dont get how some of thee morons on here said ronnie had a better back than dorian, ronnie never ever had that detail like dorian
did.

-
At least 4 x Heath's wide.
Yeah, bodybuilding has progressed since then. ::)
-
According to some had ronnie been a bit drier at that show he would have destroyed dorian....
-
unfortunately, the biceps were weak. especially his left arm...otherwise great look
-
Early Dorian was the man to beat - overall a legend both attitude- and physique-wise.
-

Yeah, I sure would of like to see him a little fuller with that great conditioning.
-
DY overdieted extremely. If he hadn't he would have blown Haney to oblivion in 91... 8)

Absolutely ridiculously good conditioning - no bodybuilders today can match that combination of mass and conditioning. Dorian was probably the best Mr Olympia ever.
Anyone who slates his structure doesn't know shit - "structure" is almost irrelevant when you've got gobs of lean hard muscle in all the right places and it shows how good he really was - with a torn bicep and a slightly wide waist he still blew everyone away. Besides, his structure was pretty good - his legs didn't overpower his torso or vice versa, nor did his waist take any attention away from his shoulder width. From the rear, his back thickness didn't take anything away from how good his glutes, hams, and calves were.
Shame about the injuries, otherwise he would have had 9 or 10 Olympias easily.

I think that all of the injuries occurred during the extreme dieting phases, during the final 6 weeks of his prep
If he had dieted less harshly; the heavy weights would've never hurt him
