Which goes to show you that Levrone is being a bit naïve about going back to his former self .

This is going to be a massive letdown - Levrone (if he even competes) will be a shadow of his former self - he's 52 for gods sake and hasn't competed in years. Okay, Dexter is 46 but he's kept it consistent by competing on a regular basis. Big traps in a cellphone photo don't mean anything.

I think the best that we can hope for with Kevin is something close to what he looked like at his final Mr. O showing in 2003, but not as strong. Had he been seriously training for years to make a comeback, bring back up his legs and back and regaining some serious mass with years of muscle maturity achieved through consistency (a la Dexter Jackson), then he might have had a chance of taking the Sandow, but at this rate and with only a few month of training, after a 13 year absence from the sport, he's lucky if he cracks the top 10 (hoping for 6th place).

It's 2016.   The biggest story is "will predictable Phil Heath, fresh off calling the police criminals for shooting 2 unarmed men, win another title?"

I mean, his activism is nice, it's a good story.   Most athletes don't have the balls to call two policemen "criminals", and that's his opinion.  But outside of that, the O isn't that packed with storylines.

Levrone coming back (although I predict a pullout with a few weeks to go), is interesting.  Most interesting thing going to far.

What interesting comeback story has there been since the 90s? Ferrigno?

Regardless, if he does show up, he should be gifted something interesting just like Arnold was. Pro bodybuilding is about to be bumped to a midnight starting time due to another women's "physique" contest.

I know we all expect him to look flat and lacking in places but what if he actually comes back in top shape. Is it really that impossible? He's not burned out, he didn't look a mess before he hung up the thong, he's well rested, his physique still looks healthy....

I think him and Shawn retired to early, if they would have waited it out they might have had a sandow in competing in this weak era..... Or maybe not

The whole reason the older guys look worse as they age is from injuries, nerve damage from tears and needles, and burnt receptors. Levrone has some injuries but hasn't been kicking a dead horse this whole time and may have some gas left in the tank. I'm not saying he's gonna win but he should make a good showing unless he hurts himself beforehand (the real problem with aging).

if you weigh over 250 it's not so much but it's still damn respectable

but why the fuck you want to lift that much anyways? it's not required for size and it's greatly increases your risk for injury

I'd say that you could get full benefits from the bench by never training with anymore than 300 pounds, and probably even 225 is enough

Hey now, the only pull out we need is when Jason Genova finally gets laid.

could be true if you mean a lean 250, but it's not required to lift that much for that size

15 was right when he said something to the effect that strength doesn't equal size

it's about form and working and fatiguing the muscle to create size, that and gear and slin and gh for massive size

since you want so much damn size why the fuck aren't you running slin  ???

It's aging itself. You just can't expect to be on top when you're over 50. You can still look good, but it's all relative.

From that vid, it looks as if they co-owned the gym with levrone (probably stumped all the cash with levrone using his name as collateral)

At least I think it was the name smith on the wall with his?

Yes, but the fact that they chose not to make that clear for some reason gives juvenile pr1cks like me room to maneuver (don't make me press the 'Stop-Being-Reasonable' button dude...  ;))
