who killed bodybuilding? the judges.

but then bodybuilding was reborn with these new classic and physique categories. 

and now the judges will kill that too by again rewarding size and conditioning over symmetry and proportionality

Judges.

They kept giving certain looks higher placings.

The competitors just followed their leads. If they had scored people down for bad things. Like guts and other things. They wouldn't have kept getting more and more fucked up looking.

Goes for male and female.

MAX, the title of this thread is similar to saying,"No one goes there anymore. It's too damn crowded!"

It's far from dead!

Nor is it dieing!

In fact bodybuilding has grown more in the past few years than any other time throughout history.

It just might be possible that it has NOT grown the way you and I and other GetBiggers like it, but the IfBB and NPC memberships have increased immensely just over the past couple  of years.

Or maybe you find the massed-monster, bulked up, muscle look to be unacceptable  .... and many people feel likewise....... as is somewhat evident on this GetBig Board.

And that most likely is one of the major reasons why Mr. Manion and other IFBB/NPC officials have decided to sanction and promote the more acceptable classic physique events.

But even then and no matter how a well trained individual looks physically ...   there will always be others who find reasons to object and criticize.

And thats been true since forever!

It's the nature of the game.

I don't know if Herk was a bodybuilder ... but look what they did to him!

Definitely the judges, but that's possible to have been handed down from the top.

Either way, champions do what it takes to win. If that means being a drug-ridden bloated massive mess then that's what people are going to do if it means winning.

Insulin didn't ruin bodybuilding. The judges rewarding it's gross obese did.

Bodybuilders will continue and have always abused whatever drugs they can in order to win. That's not going anywhere.
