Title: Supplement bust in the US
Post by: WannaBePro on July 15, 2016, 09:22:01 PM
Looks like they were spiking their stuff with superdrol.

Quote
On June 21, 2016, a Federal Grand Jury in Georgia issued an indictment against Beny Mesika and John Wesley Houser IV, the founders and co-owners of Duracap Labs, a popular supplement contract manufacturer. Joseph De Melo was also charged with one count.
They have been indicted in The US District Court for The Northern District of Georgia by a federal grand jury and US Attorney John A. Horn with the following:

Conspiracy
Distribution of Controlled Substances (two counts)
Introducing Misbranded Drugs into Interstate Commerce (two counts)
Money Laundering (seven counts)

The products and brands in question
The indictment focuses on the brand ANS (Adrenaline Nutrition Supplements — not Canadian-based ANS Performance!!!), which manufactured products named “Mass Destruction” for Blunt Force Nutrition and Mutant Plexx for AMF, otherwise known as Alpha Male Formulations.
These two products were both found to contain Methasterone, a Schedule III Controlled Substance also known as Superdrol, despite the ingredient not being listed on either of those products’ labels.

Mass Destruction was already known to contain “one synthetic anabolic steroid and has been linked to at least one reported serious illness”, per a 2013 FDA consumer warning letter.[1] Now we know that ingredient was Superdrol, and upon discovering this, the FDA likely handed the case to the DEA, where the investigation really unfolded.

I remember taking a protein powder back when I was college that I'm sure was laced with something. I added around 10lbs in weight, became stronger, a lot more hairy and got acne in the month I took it.

No, it was just a regular protein powder. I think it was from Body Fortress.

Great, a fart powder that actually produces results and the government takes it off the market.

On a related note - was the original blue Tribex from Biotest spiked? It felt like it was.

puberty

I'd already went through that a few years previously. This was different and the changes occurred literally within a week of taking the supplement. Looking back, I'm sure there was something else in it.

Hot Stuff?

The original Hot Stuff had trace amounts of methyl-test & clen in it.

Enough to do something, but not too much too raise any immediate flags.

Once word got out, they took out these ingredients & it became a generic useless crap product, but the myth of was there to keep it going for a while.
