"BONUS. Barack Obama, 2008. Hillary Clinton 2008 campaign spokesman Howard Wolfson said President Barack Obama had “lifted rhetoric” from Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick.

“If your whole candidacy is about words, then they should be your own words,” then-Sen. Clinton said about Obama at the time. “That’s what I think.”

Obama admitted that he used some of Deval’s words at a Jefferson-Jackson dinner in Wisconsin.

“Deval and I do trade ideas all the time, and you know he’s occasionally used lines of mine,” Obama said.

“I would add I’ve noticed on occasion Sen. Clinton has used words of mine as well,” Obama added. “As I said before, I really don’t think this is too big of a deal.”

Isn't trump running to be something BETTER than Obama/Biden?

If the only defense is "the liberal shitbirds we're trying to replace ALSO do this..."

Great.  If this is how he runs the campaign, how will he run the country?

Sources inside the Donald Trump campaign and the Republican Party are pointing fingers at an aide they say is responsible for the Melania Trump plagiarism storm – a man who was the campaign chairman's lobbying partner before he came aboard the Trump train.

Rick Gates was named to DailyMail.com by several sources with knowledge of the steps that led to Melania Trump delivering a partly plagiarized speech Monday night.

Gates is a former long-time lobbying partner of Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and now faces demands that his head should roll.

The campaign has shown no sign of moving in that direction, however.

Two plugged-in Trump aides and three Republican National Convention officials confirmed that Gates, the deputy convention manager in charge of putting down a 'NeverTrump' rebellion on Monday, also had final authority to sign off on Mrs. Trump's remarks and those of many other speakers.

Gates sought to distance himself from the controversy on Tuesday, telling CNN it was 'absolutely not' true that he oversaw the proc

4D chess. Now everyone is talking about Trump, watching his wife's speech and getting millions in free exposure. Classic media manipulation and even better they're comparing her to the First Lady and it's sinking into people's brains.

yeah that's one way to rationalize and justify it.  Go for it.  Gotta do something to explain why Rudy's awesome speech was ignored.   All that important talk about national security was buried under the glory of Maobama's amazing words - great thinking, Donald.

lol... so basically they are saying:

- OK, she didn't plagiarize, but it doesn't matter since the other side has plagiarized in the past.

-  I wrote the speech, but I had a little help, especially with the parts that might be in question.

-  Either way it doesn't matter, Obama has bad body language, I am telling you that there is something going on with him.

- He is selling weapons Isis.. I don't care what he says he is Muslim

No, I do not.  A month before he declared, I posted the exact date he would, and said he'd easily win the nomination.   Then I said he'd either win by, or lose by, 40 states.  I think there's also a high probability he's a dem plant.

So far, I got the first one right - I correctly predicted he'd smash the best GOP class probably EVER.

To be honest, I am shocked and appalled that the potential first lady plagiarized Michelle Obamas words. She may be the first lady in a few months. Never have I been so disheartened in my life.

maybe she just wnated to make a mockery of the process.   Probably.

I think she copied old first lady speeches.  really liked those lines.  changed a few words to 'make it her own' and legit thought she could use it.

I think there is a massive lack of control/oversight in camp trump.   I think Trump's silence speaks volumes ;)

i called trump a dem plant in 2011 on getbig.
i said it when he nullified the birther issue by taking ownership then fumbling and disappearing when the fake ass birth cert came out with photoshop spacing.

Many repubs just don't want to believe he'd do that.  They don't know about alvin greene.

Yes, she changed a few words around, but kept the gist of the speech the same--the undertones were the same. I guess the our First Lady, Michelle Obama, should feel flattered.

Yes, Trumps silence may be indicative of a bigger plot!

I doubt it was mocking. She seemed very sincere in her speech.

I mean, I don't want to say anything, and I won't go there, but I think 240 may be right about a so-called politician being a dicotyledon.

Again, my 9th grade football coach said almost the identical phrases, should he be bashing Mrs Osama for stealing his lines? Or are they pretty much basic motivational lines you expect people to say?

So you keep referring to some as "repubs" with the intent of you insinuating you really are a liberal.

it was two long statements.   the only changes were her dumbing down the big words.  1 in trillion chance it was a 'coincidence'.

Here We Go Again: Language In Trump Jr.'s RNC Speech Lifted From Article

Donald Trump Jr. appears to have followed in his stepmother Melania Trump's footsteps and gave a prime-time Republican National Convention speech that lifted some language from a magazine article.

The Daily Show pointed out that a few lines from Trump Jr.'s speech on night two of the convention closely matched a passage from a piece written by F. H. Buckley and published in The American Conservative in May.

Read Trump Jr.'s remarks below:

Our schools used to be an elevator to the middle class. Now they're stalled on the ground floor. They're like Soviet-era department stores that are run for the benefit of the clerks and not the customers, for the teachers and administrators and not the students.

And here is the paragraph from the original American Conservative piece:

What should be an elevator to the upper class is stalled on the ground floor. Part of the fault for this may be laid at the feet of the system’s entrenched interests: the teachers’ unions and the higher-education professoriate. Our schools and universities are like the old Soviet department stores whose mission was to serve the interests of the sales clerks and not the customers.
