One gets you shot by the cops and the other makes money for the weapons companies, oil companies, corrupt politicians etc. Trolling them with medals and rounds of applause at SeaWorld is a small price to pay for the billions they make. And the best bit is they don't use up tax dollars by being looked after once they leave the service, they can just sit and rot. But at least they have their medals which they can attach to their baseball hats as they get wheeled round SeaWorld in their wheelchairs after their legs have been blown off and a handshake and a thanks for their service is all they ask for.

First, it's pretty much Army regulations to have one's dress uniform accurately display rank, patches and ribbons. Kind of like you have to wear your hat and name tag at McDonald's.
Second, the dress uniform is essentially the soldier's resume. It shows name, rank, branch, combat, qualifications, achievements, etc. It's not for bragging. It's simply a factual account of one's career.

It matters not if the war in question is just or not. What matters is the men with enough sack to done the uniform for whatever motive they have. The end result is a nation having a standing army at the ready so if it's needed they are there. The men wearing that uniform have one job, follow orders from the top. They do not question those orders. Without men like this we would not hAve a military or a nation.
