Title: Levrone: Ninja's Or Bad Fish, Which Will It Be?
Post by: Fallsview on July 24, 2016, 08:24:28 PM
To be honest Kevin's physique was put together well when he was younger. Now looking at his present photos, its just not IFBB Pro anymore. He's repping products like mad and his physique, looking very good, just not good enough to be on the Olympia stage...maybe the Ruby Classic.  Personally I don't think he's even going to show up. Which excuse is he going to use?

He's never not showed up to a contest before even when he showed up at Arnold's in crap shape. He looks pretty good, he's ripped and has size, more size is coming. You're not very positive in this post Alex.

Look just because Kevin used to grow into shows, does not mean that is how this is going to be. Not being negative as I'm a huge Levrone fan. But he was bigger weeks back, and although he is leaner now, it makes no sense at all to be big than drop size and be more conditioned, only to put more size back on. Hence growing into his show. Now Kevin knows his body, so with the extra time allotted that he is not used too, this could be a plan. From here on out, putting on lean mass by eating big, but clean! We shall see? But after 50 years old your body's metabolism is not the same. It's not the Kevin of the 1996 Arnold Classic. ( my favorite version ) and which he won over a great Looking Flex. You just can't do things the same 20 years later! But you can learn to adapt, and do things slightly different as you get older. Ala ( Dexter Jackson) lets see what happens if Kev posts more pics? We will then see if he is growing but still staying lean. I juxtapose his pics with that of Big Ramy's pics who everyone here seems to dislike. Remember he is young. This year could be different, as new pictures show him far ahead of Kevin in both size and conditioning. Yes I know he could have last day fuck ups, like Dennis James seemed to always have. If Aceto can't dial him in, or is not allowed???? Then forget it! Just an example. All these things considered, it is still the weakest lineup in Mr O history in a long time. This only serves Kevin well. :)

If you're expecting him to be the biggest guy out there you're a fool.

I would be shocked if Levrone thought he would be the biggest. He's not that dumb. But can he compete? Yea.

The Olympia lineup sucks and even the top 6 in recent years has been weak.

Forgot one thing: What worries me is Kevin will not show his back or legs. I know I would if I was looking good. These have always been Kevin's so called weak areas after '98 or so, compared to that field. Times are different now. Can you really see him rivaling Phil's back? Phil's or Ramy's legs? Dexters conditioning, and shape??? Hmmm. Good thing Kai is out and planning on the Arnold. Wishing Kevin the best though. His side, most muscular chest pose if he's looking good, should still bring the house down!

I agree Coffeed. But there will not just be bigger guys, but more conditioned too. You should know that or you are a bigger fool! Fact!!!! Small legs, weak back, conditioning barely on par or the same as the rest. At best dummy!  ::) living in dreamland are we?

Why is everybody so negative about Kevin comeback?
Everybody bashes modern bodybuilding, but when one of the greatest bodybuilders ever decides to compete again, everybody hates on him.

What does "grow into a show" even mean?  Levrone has one nice physique but him stepping on that stage is going to be comparable to Jason Genova stepping on stage. When you are dealing with that type of elite you need to be on your game.

Anyone know how Levrone qualifies for the Olympia? Are the rules that once an IFBB Pro you can just enter a contest like that old white guy used to...remembet Pelitier or something?

Positive as ever.
If someone can grow into a show, it's the one and only Kevin Levrone.

It isn't a situation where people are willing him to fail.  Completely the opposite.  They want to believe.

Don't confuse reality with being negative or positive. I think Kevin's physique back in the day was great. But the problem is the Olympia has changed.

Now, If Kevin by some chance can dial his classic physique in like the old days he might not win the contest but he will show how horrible today's bodybuilders look. That could be a turning point.

Agree on him showing how bodybuilding should aim, but he won't change nothing in modern bodybuilding. Sadly.

What does "grow into a show" even mean?

He trains super hard and gets very lean leading up to the show. Then last month as muscles are over fatigued we starts eating more whilst still training hard and upping the dose. Suddenly boom he balloons up. Add vodka the night before and carb load and boom Levrone is back!

The problem is Levrone last competed in 2003. Much has changed.

Now it IS A SIZE GAME.

Unless the Olympia is changing back to the 1990's way of physiques, but that's not happening and they wouldn't use a 52 year old to do it. They would pick a new shining star to lead the way.

If he gets 8th place that will be a gift.

Yes, but the old school approach was to keep pretty covered up until the show, then do photo shoots afterwards.  Dorian stuck to this pretty much all the time.  Maybe it's just that? The newer guys are a lot more open - Example: McCarver published his diet & training nearly every day - imagine asking one of the '90s pros to do that back in the day LOL
