Warren Buffett really let Donald Trump have it on Monday during a rally for Hillary Clinton.
Famous for his investing prowess, Buffett of course went after the one time Trump took a company public on the stock market.
“In 1995, Donald Trump went to the American people and he said join me — I’m a winner — and invest in my company: Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts,” Buffett said. “They listed on the New York Stock Exchange and Mr. Trump very modestly made the ticker symbol DJT. Guess what that’s for.”
That business eventually turned out to be the worst part of Trump’s business portfolio.
“The next 10 years, the company loses money every year,” Buffett continued. “Every single year.”
Buffett added that while shareholders saw their investment crumble, Trump took home $44 million in compensation during that period.
You would’ve done better betting on a monkey with a dart
The truth is it’s very difficult to find success in the stock market. Time and time again, studies show that professionals very rarely are able to generate above average returns.

Warren Buffett slams Trump with a monkey and a newspaper
For Trump, it wasn’t that he couldn’t deliver above-average returns. It was that he wasn’t even close to delivering an average return.
“In 1995 when he offered this company, if a monkey had thrown a dart at the stock page [of a newspaper], the monkey on average would’ve made a 150%,” Buffett quipped. “But the people who believed in him, who listened to his siren song, came away losing over 90 cents on the dollar. They got back less than a dime.”

The illustration in which monkeys are armed with darts isn’t a new one. It simply suggests that no amount of careful analysis will guarantee success in the stock market.
With regard to the presidential election, the stakes are arguably higher. For Buffett, such a choice deserves at least a quick look at each candidates’ track records, which are clearly unfavorable for Trump.

I'm pretty sure a monkey with a megaphone would have done less damage than Trump has done in the past 72 hours.

The companies he ran declared bankruptcy five times. And his briefly publicly traded company when straight down the tubes. 'nuff said. ::)

he said his name is worth 4 to 6 billion dollars, that is how he can claim 10 billion worth.
but he also uses that shield all the time: "Those weren't my hotels, they just used my name" to explain all the crashes and shit endeavors.
Repubs are suddenly realizing Trump is a democat con man, who worked with liberal media to win hilary the presidency and crush a really strong republican primary field.

He has 515 businesses and employs 25,000. If 4, 5 or 20 went under that's a damn good record.

you're the last trump kneepadder in the nation.
The rest of them heard him speak over the last week and decided they'd have enough.
the model of consistency that you are, you're sticking with trump. Good for you.

I'm no fan of his but I didn't find his speech over the last week offensive at all. A Muslim with a political agenda and deep ties to Clinton attacked him by using his son's Valor and heroism. Trump threw a few jabs back. Fast forward to this week and said Muslim scrubbed all remnants of his history from the 'net. Trump said some really bone head things that showed his complete unawareness of foreign policy.
Clinton of the other hand sat and told us how stupid we are by declaring the fbi said she was totally truthful and forthcoming. In this instance I will take trump's incompetence and big mouth over Clinton's arrogance and assumption that we are all too stupid to comprehend her level of lies and corruption.
It really boils down to the devil we don't know versus the 1 we do. Unfortunately, we have to choose and sadly I will be pulling the lever for trump

He says stupid shit. The Trump haters never make the camparisons that Killary has said and done things far beyond what Trump has ever said yet YOU give her a pass. If you or let's take this ridiculous statement that Bay made about the five bankruptcies then the otherside of that should be given. Quit misleading and you might come off reasonably credible instead having no credibility what so ever. Sorry, i don't live on a computer like many of you so my statements are quick and to the point.

He says stupid shit.
He wants the most important job on the planet - and he cannot stop saying stupid shit.
what does that tell you?

And that's the only thing you focus because you can't address anything else in that statement. Am I right or wrong. Has Killary said much worse? Keep in mind she's waaaaaay while still Secretary of State. Your saying about Trump like he's already in office.

Trump is shitting all over his own party, dragging down candidates, wasting money, minimizing donations. he's wrecking the GOP daily.
Everyone sees it except you.

No, I see it. He needs to reset no doubt. But once again for everything that's came out and is STILL coming out about Killary that's MUCH worse, she's getting a pass, isn't she?
-
No, I see it. He needs to reset no doubt.
A reset?
Does hilary get a reset for the evil, corrupt, evil shit that she's done? Or are you still going on about 1990s vince foster conspiracy theories?
Or do you just extend that courtesy to (R) candidates for the things they do?

you said trump needs a reset. Does a reset cancel out all the damage he's done to the GOP so far?

You have a trump tunnel vision. When I said reset I meant a campaign reset.

he's done that already. remember the supreme court suggestion list he used a teleprompter for? Lasted a week.
The 2nd time... he dropped his campaign chief, promised to reset and be more professional.
he read a nice teleprompter speech, and rush/FOX celebrated the trump they wanted all along had finally arrived.
Then he botched the convention, letting cruz punk him onstage and his wife go ahead and use a recycled speech from the mean lunch lady.
Then he spent hilary's convention week begging russia to do a little espionage to benefit him politically.
Finally, he spent the weekend hating on fireman, fighting with military loss families, and shitting on Paul Ryan.
So he needs ANOTHER reset, then? Because repubs totally fell for his first one... and the second one... so I guess when he comes out tomrorow and the teleprompter comes on, you should start a thread about how successful this reset will be.

What's funny about your posts is that you're totally trying to derail about what I said about Killary but rather kept on with Trump. In this thread, once again you have defended Killary and shit on Trump. You keep trying to spin it but it isn't working.

Not a Trump fan, but I think it's kinda silly to attack him on what he's done making money. He's one of the wealthiest men on the planet.

Trump is a guy who regularly triples his wealth when discussing it. Maybe even more.
Bloomberg has it at 3 bil, forbes has it at 4 billion... and trump just "rounds up" to ten billion.
I mean, even at the table of billionaires, trump STILL finds a way to be a lying douche blowhard.

He started with a silver spoon up his ass and went BK 4 times. I am not impressed by what he's done. I may not agree with Buffet on some things, not care for his character at times, but i do respect his financial success.

No question he started with a tremendous advantage, but given the limited number of billionaires, I'd say most who begin with that kind of privilege don't do as well as Trump did.
I'm not hung up on the bankruptcies. His businesses have made tons of money. His name is worth an incredible amount of money. I was talking to a developer recently who had dealings with Trump. He said Trump came in the room to talk about investing in some project and said he's not putting in any money, but they can pay to use his name. And that's what happened. Very few people can sell just their name the way he can.
I really can't stand the guy after what I've seen during this campaign, but he has had remarkable success in business.

I am not saying trump isn't accomplished, he's a great self promoter, its just that he's not that impressive (as his followers like to believe) and when a self made billionaire puts Trump's success into perspective its says a lot. BTW BK 4 times... Once, fine, 4 times = Bad.
