I'd say a big part is Beer. It used to be six packs; now it's 12.
Combine that with oversized bags of chips and you're on the road to fatfuckdom.

Actually its sugar everything in the supermarket is loaded with sugar, fucks up your blood sugar levels and make fat.

Europes xxl cola is USA medium cola.. Your junk food is dirty cheap as well, not to mention you barely walk.. everything is by car, in Sweden people use much more trams/sub/bus.
-
It's sugar and refined carbs in massive amounts. Not to mention people are misinformed about how to get and stay lean.

It was quite the road trip with plenty of junk food snackin' pit stops, but I arrived.

IDK about beer but snack food size has gotten smaller through the years, especially when the fuel costs skyrocketed. Companies, all across the board, changed the weight of their product in order to keep the prices stable. Frito Lay set the standard for this practice.
And nothing has reverted to its original state despite the lower fuel costs.

I'm talking about the "Family" size that you see in every supermarket chain. One of these is 2800 cals:

Compared to 1950, usage of AnimalPak products increased dramatically so I think most people just swole'd themselves up into the 5%er club.

I understand your point, I wasn't saying youre wrong I just wanted to point out how packaged food companies have slowly decreased their sizes.
The "family" size is a 17/16oz bag, that used to be the regular size. Tub o lards don't need to eat the whole thing.

Lol, yep blame it on that nasty ol sugar.
You do realize that in 1970 people consumed about 2000 cals on average and in 2010 it was up to 2,500. Added sugars and sweeteners made up about 35 cals of that increase.
Guys need to stop living in the Stone Age and getting their info from reading crappy muscle mags.

It has nothing to do with calories. It's about how sugar interacts with the body.

These low carb zealots have a cognitive dissonance as to how people actually eat. The average American consumes 3700 cals a day. The diet isn't high carb low fat. It's high everything.

Perhaps you need to read modern info gramps. This isn't bro science.

When they show poor people all over the world they have their ribs sticking out and they are skinny. When they show poor down and out people from America they are as fat as a house. America has a different standard of what it means to be poor.
