One of the fastest improving bodybuilders out there at the moment - he's bordering on top 6 at this rate.

agreed. Really kinda came up quickly. Quite dense, this fella.
-
Looks great from the front but his back is still kinda weak.
-
Huge. But ... Is it just me or has this whole scene become a bore with the absolute drug reality now fully exposed?
I mean, if a guy responds well and is willing to take the gear, he'll become a freak, relatively fast.
It's like, Who gives a fuck. Another dude on mountains of shit.

It has become a contest of who can handle the most shit without their insides turning to butter.

Yep, the drugs are most likely 85 percent of the total in their quest for mass. They all look the same, no one has any real distinct difference that place them apart from each other. Just large massive squared off guys.

Exactly.
Is there another sport where a retired 52 year old can come back.... and be considered a threat? I mean seriously. Dave Palumbo said last week, on 2 seperate shows, that Levrone will win the 2016 Olympia.
-
A back pose without Kamali lighting would be a more accurate indicator of Olympia placing

Let me add a little something to that....
what happens (damage) to the body...
its not a question of "if" it's a question of how long
A very famous bodybuilder who died not too long ago before the age of 50 (in my hometown) said that the bodybuilders of today will be feeling like death warmed over by 40... or sooner
Play today
Pay tomorrow
Younger guys, unless extremely intelligent (by listening to those who have been there) will be experiencing more issues than just organ damage
Steroids affect your mentality... your brain...
All the guys that I know that were competing professionally and doing a quarter of the shit these guys are doing today are frickin Looney Toonz today... psycho... bipolar... trippin all the time... paranoid... something is out of whack. They are not "normal" by any means.. which I realize is a word that really does not fit anyone today
By which standards can one be "normal?"
Well, you gotta define "normal"
which is impossible
If I had to make a prediction about the future of professional bodybuilding... my guess would be that 20 years from now, it won't even exist. Not the 'monster' style anyway.
It's gonna be a Mr. Fitness world.
There will still be drugs. Always. But the size game? Will be history. Ancient history.
You can't expect to walk around like a freak in your 20's and 30's without future repercussions. Risk to Benefit ratio is insane.
Might as well be an MMA fighter. That probably won't exist anymore either.. at least not as we know it today.
People will not be allowed to live dangerously.

Charles Glass belly squats. :P

It's very difficult to look bad in a most muscular pose.
I'm not impressed with this guy overall. Big but incomplete.

I hate to play Devil's advocate here, but what is he missing, exactly? Some back thickness?

#2 at the O possible?

Yes. His back is the weak point for sure.

Then how is it that guys like J are perfectly healthy and fit and successful post retirement?
Quality gear is fine to use if done the right way. It's all the impurities from poorly made stuff that causes the problem.

Going to write that also. Ugly physique to me in most pictures I've seen.

You are too negative bro maybe you should stop watching bodybuilding and join a bookclub and talk about how it made you feel with the housewives.

What I took away from McCarver's outburst was this: even though he had just won a pro show, he at least knew that he was far from perfect. He knew that he had a long way to go.
As funny as the meltdown was, at least McCarver acknowledged that he wasn't perfect.
-
When he turns around he drops out of the top 6. 7 thru 10 is possible.

His back lacks denseness and thickness. Looks flat and stringy.

That gap between his abs is hideous. It's larger than the abs themselves! And his lower abs are MIA.
This guy's midsection is almost as bad as his back.

How many years old is that pic? He is bigger now - so we'll just have to see what his back looks like now.
He has a lot of potential but as I have said before he needs to get rid of the cheap looking tattoo on his right arm and all the other tats.
-
Huge calves for such thin ankles.

Just terrible ::)
That's shopped bro...

Agreed.
Delt heads missing. No tri/bi separation at all. Grainy with a few veins, but not striated or cut.
Hiding midsection with his arms.
A mass of drug bloat if you ask me.
-
DK mode of peace.
Good call - also, I should be embarassed (but am not) at the amount of time I've spent recently being caught by my fam changing the size of men in thongs heads and genitals... thank God they already know I'm a weirdo by the amount of time I spend here... ;D
-
Just terrible ::)
"
"Mommy, why is that ugly man's chest so narrow"????

Looks good by todays standards.
But we're not in the 90's anymore (unfortunately).

Nothing more, nothing less
Drug response and tolerance
Charles glass training is bs

dallas just gives me 'bad vibes' so to speak. not trying to sound like some faaggot hippie but his videos and stuff are just weird,,,,like when i watch his videos and stuff all i can think about and see is the strain that the ungodly amounts of drugs he must take is putting on him. i kinda see him in the same light as a full blown heron addict, who wakes up already feeling like complete shit until they are able to get their first hit of the day in them- if that makes sense? Metaphorically of course...
Idk I just dont see things going well for him, I mean he's only 2 YEARS OLDER than I am (25 years old) and just look at him. My perspective is he'll never be Mr. O and I dont think he'll be able to market himself in a way to make 6 figures+ annually so why go through all that and put your body through it? Dallas would also be totally screwed without his buddy Matt Jansen, would be totally lost and wouldn't even look half as good as he does without him. That dude is a genius imo when it comes to bodybuild.

He got his pro card in 2012 at the age of 21 (do the math). All bodybuilders are on boatloads of gear so I assume you feel the same way about all of them. Many of them rely on coaches and he happens to have a competent one who has become a good friend. He enjoys what he does and that's what life is about so why knock it? He's close to 300lbs so those weights are really not ungodly. Guy is strong as fuck and works hard with compound movements which is the best way to gain size/thickness.
This is getbig so why post if you compare bodybuilders to heroin addicts (metaphorically of course)?

You would be wrong with that assumption, I do not feel that way about all of them, only some. Maybe my metaphor was a poor one but I honestly don't know how to describe my feelings about him annd certain others, it's a very tough thing for me to put into words. Also don't think that I was knocking him because that wasn't my intentions either, dude is a modern day monster. And I don't know why you're talking about the weights he lifts because I didn't say anything about that, I have nothing but admiration and respect for his strength regardless of his bw and the amount of drugs.
Though he is the epitome of the modern day mass monster, all GH and insulin with very little cuts, seperation or striations. Sorry if you misunderstood my post but I wasn't trying to knock him really.
-
Mass is where it's at these days.
Go to any gym if you want to see standard old-fashioned bodybuilder to seek styles of the 70s. Those types of guys are everywhere, and every gym.
What people want to see these days, is mass monsters. Freaky dudes and size. The rest is boring. We've been there and done that. The new up an comers need to be massive and freakish.
-

Because he used to be one.

I posted this shot in the Morgan Aste thread. Not to scale, blurry, etc. but at a glance seems to bear out what most of you guys are saying. My crappy bro-science would suggest that he might wish to try some of those Yates-style bent-over(ish) rows with the underhand grip. (The one all us old farts started doing when Dorian first appeared cuz we thought it was 'the answer' LOL!)
-
In the pic I posted earlier I was just trying to show at 300lbs he has some back detail. He is squeezing here so his lats are not flared at all.
