This was a great race for so many reasons. I'm Canadian, so seeing 16 Y/O Penny Oleksiak come back from being in 7th place at the halfway point and come back to tie for gold was awesome. And then seeing her reaction when she finally turned around and realized she got gold was priceless. Also becoming the first Canadian to medal 4 times at the same Olympics.
And then Simone Manuel becoming the first Black woman to win a gold medal in swimming, and her reaction and seeing how much it meant to her was great as well. Great acheivements for both of them.
