I'm going to agree with Rocco, Gunther in his prime was a HUGE man. He seemed taller than 6 though.
Prime Ronnie was the most impressive, even in shorts and a t shirt he looked like he was from another planet. Cutler was unusually wide, Priest had arms that were unreal and Kovacs was a sweaty pig.

LOL! I have weight trained consistently going on 44 years now. I always have visible abs and have never been over 10% bodyfat. I have pics posted all over this place.

He does look in great shape and looks like he actually works out -- which is more than you can say for the majority on this board.
I met Gunter in person maybe about 10 years ago when he use to train at the Golds in Redondo Beach, CA. He was long retired by then but he was very impressive in person. I'm around 6'2" and he was noticeably taller than I was.
Very nice and good natured guy. Always a smile when he caught your eye. Seems very happy and content. Even if he isn't 300 pounds of rippling muscle. Inconceivable to many on this board.

Most likely one of the better persons in bodybuilding, but I never could stand his smile in the magazines. Weider understandably loved him as he was one of the few market-compatible dudes in his "roster".

I prefer to understate my height and just say 6'1". Most think I'm around 6'3" because being thin it seems to make you look taller. Plus with shoes I am probably closer to 6'3". But, you're right, I have read that you get shorter as the day wears on if you are on your feet a lot.
BTW, for all you jealous midgets, I wasn't the one who brought up the subject of my height. It was about Gunter and his height which was called into question. He did seem taller than me but I will admit I really didn't pay that close attention. I just go by eye level. Most people I have to look down when I meet them but not with Gunter. Also, he is just so much bigger than I am so that could have added to the overall impression.
Anyway, good guy. Should have placed higher in 2002.
