Doesn't matter. McGregor won. Do you understand the amount of pressure he was under? Another loss to Diaz, would have put this Irish lad's shit talking in the can.
But I think Connor is refreshingly honest. He also happens to be one hell of a fighter.
Answer me this question: How do you gas in the second, but are still able to win a 5 round decision?

Pretty sure Diaz was doing strength conditioning with Coach prior to this fight. This is the only reasonable explanation for his loss. :D

There was nothing wrong with his S&C it was McGregor that gassed. Diaz trains for 6-8 rounds I doubt if McGregor even trains for 3-4. His S&C coach should be fired. He has the conditioning of a fat Roy Nelson

Connor wanted to box in the center of the octagon. Diaz was getting destroyed there. So Diaz kept trying to hold Conor against the fence. Diaz was trying to avoid a straight up boxing match. Conor would escape from the fence and retreat back to the center of the octagon.... and Diaz claimed that Conor was "running away". Conor just wanted to resume the boxing match. Diaz was the one that was afraid to engage in the center of the cage.
I hate it when a fighter tries to hold his opponent against the cage. its a form of laying & praying. Its avoidance.

Connor won the fight, he outboxed Diaz, defended all takedown attempts, knocked down diaz 3 times...
Round 1,2 and 4 were for mcgregor, round 3 was the one won clearly by diaz and round 5 was pretty close...

Of.course connor was going to gas under those conditions. He's fighting up two weight classes against a bigger ranger guy with a granite chin. He had the perfect game plan. If connor had better cardio he would be unstoppable. That was one of the best fights I've watched in a long time.

The story here is Nate making the smartest move in his MMA career. He called cm out and backed it up on short notice with a submission. Now he goes the distance with so much blood pouring down his face he can't see. From journeyman to headliner.

Biggest factor I see in this fight is when Connor hurt his foot, take Nates leg away from kicks and hes gone, his style is to dependant on the front foot, no way Aldo or Dos Anjos with their leg kicking would be troubled by Nate as much as Nate troubles Connor, if he stopped kicking due to injury well that's a huge factor in a third fight, if it wasn't Mcgregor shouldn't give him a third fight, sure hes a better more accurate striker, a class above maybe not that much and the stamina factor to Diaz makes it to close to call, props to Connor for offering it.

This will be especially true at III since it will be fought at 155 lbs, and Nate lacks the punching power. Take McGregor down in the middle, stay off of the fences, and submit him.
