If you're talking about traditional martial arts in general I would say yes. On both the streets and in business situations. A lot of mental clarity, emotional balance and spiritual knowlwdge. (Not to mention the ability to kick the stuffings out of 98% of the population.)

Which martial arts did you study?

I studied karate for about 4 years when I was a teen. Gave me more confidence, just knowing if shit went down I would have a good idea of what to do. Other than that not much else.

Karate is useless kata. At least thai kickboxing us more like fighting.

In a real fight you need to floor someone fast otherwise you will be on the floor.

i did tae kwon do, judo, Shotokan, boxing, jeet kune do up into highschool and a little BJJ in college ( yes BJJ, outed) anyway:
tae kwon do, judo = mostly pointless in real world.
shotokan, boxing, jeet kune do = can have real world applications.

I wish i would have spent all that time learning taekwondo and judo and learn kickboxing or krav maga instead.

Knew a kid in middle school that took it around the time of the first ninja turtles movie. he bought sais, real katanas, ninja magazines, even had a poster of sho kosugi up on his wall. A true Ninja schmoe I guess.

Weird thing was he never demonstrated or talked about anything he learned in class. Only how cool his shidosi was about throwing pizza parties and pool parties at his house....

Tae Kwon Do, got my black at thirteen. Beyond obsessed. It proved useless, mostly.

... though side/back kicks can be effective, at times.

Karate useless unless you are fighting the clueless. Judo is great for getting people down.  Wrestling is a powerful art  in that many many fight is won with ground and pound. Wrestlers can be hard to take down if you're just a jiu jitsu guy that only practices from the knees on the mat. Wrestlers at least early on learning submissions always give up their back and get choked out. The fastest learners of jiu jitsu are wrestlers in what I have seen though. Jiu Jitsu is the art. Real in it's effectiveness. Just some practitioners are really lacking in take downs and striking. If you can't get a guy down you are going to eat a lot of hits. Kung fu is another silly waste of time.  Aikido will get you killed but if you can't sink a submission before the fight starts in earnest. Boxing is legit. Problem with boxers is they are just too easy to take down. Kick boxing is great if the guy has a good take down defense.

Overall just like Bruce Lee stated in effect. You have to take the best from each art and blend it into one.  You need strikes, take downs, take down defense and ground submissions and defense against submissions.

Judo.  And yes, it taught discipline and work ethic, along with the ability to apply a choke hold and arm bar.

Ninjutsu isn't a martial art. It's a fabrication of ninja techniques with no real life application. See 18x Ninjitsu champion Scott Norris vs Pat Smith UFC 2. First fight below.

Karate, Wing Chun, and a soft chinese art, Leihai Wishi Quanfa. Had to unlearn it all (except for front and side kicks from karate) for boxing and later MMA. Boxing kills them all in terms of effectiveness. Not at my level, but a competent boxer will smash ous literally before they know whats happening. Karate was by far the most useless in a real fight, except for the basic blocks and kicks. Punching technique is just a joke.

I try to avoid conflict, but i know several karate blackbelts who smashed the face of several bully bouncers. Decades ago my karate sensei kicked the ass of a gang of 6 guys. I was a teen then.

No, a sacred art only used to beat up bodybuilding contenders, on the eve of a contest.. Ask Flex Wheeler.

Ninjutsu! '80s movie style!
I think Lee van Cleef or Sho Kosugi could turn invisble and had laser beams on their knuckle guards!
