Title: Roland Cziurlok - 1996 German Grand Prix Prejudging - VIDEO!!!
Post by: Iceman1981 on August 29, 2016, 01:56:33 PM
This was Roland Cziurlok second year in the IFBB. Just like Aaron Baker, Roland was one of the most underrated bodybuilders of all-time. He had a crazy back and his conditioning was pretty good as well. His most muscular was just legendary. You could be picky and say his triceps were weak, but everything else was good enough to win many contests. I don't possibly know what the IFBB had against him, but if he was judged and placed fairly he definitely would of done some serious damage. He placed 9th at this contest with that type of physique. It just goes to show how deep the talent was in the 90's.

H was robbed badly at '94 O.

I remember he did his posing routine (at a lighter bodyweight of like 224. He later got up to 260) and then Ronnie Coleman came on right after him and started his routine by shaking his ass. It was so awkward. Ronnie was maybe 230 or 235 pounds and so far from what was to soon come in a year or 2. I still have that Mr. O on VHS, along with the 93 up until like 2000.

I used to read that Roland was 5'8" (173cm). I know you're in front of him so that makes you look taller, but was he that height when you met him?

Yes, excellent conditioning indeed!  I seem to recall he was a 'pump' trainer - lots of sets with little to no failure/negatives/drops - kind of the inverse of Dorian Yates?  (Maybe the Mike Christian/Vince Taylor approach that we all wished worked for us.)  And didn't he also do little to no cardio?

I think that show was Dorians best ever shape and condition, still had the arm issue, but it wasn't as noticeable as 97
