Damn.
-
Props to the GOAT for finishing through what he promised!
EVEN through injuries!
-
He had that pec tear repaired quickly, that is why he was able to resume training. There is some asymmetry, but not nearly has much as other bodybuilders who did not seek prompt surgical repair.
He tore the right side too (same area) in the late 90's. Amazing how much he can still bench press.
-
Yep. Saw this today. Props for following through.
-
I think 240 is back needs to give levrone an apology for ever saying he would back out..
-
Heart of a lion!
-
No backing down!
No Retreat, No Surrender!
-
-
WOW cant beleive he tore pec again and still managed to compete and look great-I tore mine last year partially and it has effected me greatly props to him-anyone know how bad it was?

i made a prediction about a professional athlete in a sporting event. Had he taken some sick photos, 3 weeks out, then ninja'd out of it, his legacy would be intact and he could have milked this for another year - and in a year, he may have gotten the legs and chest up, and truly broke the top 10 and maybe won a smaller show. Many agree he *should* have waited.
As it stands, aside from the praise we give him today, the history books have another example of a top pro coming back a decade later and placing dead last. He looked great, but IMO he should have milked it until he ready to compete.
(coming out with injury report after a bad showing was the penyton manning move - every time he lost, or did badly, we'd hear about some phantom knee injury the next day explaining it away.

In other words....you were completely talking out your ass again
-
Great that the bloke not only still competed but never bitched about it or used it as an excuse prior to the Olympia and only mentioned it once it's done.
For fucks sake the blokes trying to do his best getting into shape at 50 or so with a torn pec and that fucking shitstain Heath is crying to whoever would listen that leverone was "stealing his thunder".
Shows the difference between the character of these two guys.
-
What could have been. IF he ever would compete again he needs to train smarter and lighter. Props for finishing.
-

Shhhhh boooom.
-
Shhhhh boooom.
It's not that he is dumb and repetitive.....he's just really fucking stupid
-
Damn.
No wonder he was so atrophied. Props for continuing. He even went on to win the 1994 Arnold classic after a severe pec tear only a few months earlier. Heart of a lion for sure.
-
He had the "I tore my pec" card under the sleeve so when Battle time comes he had an excuse for a poor showing ...
Shawn ray was spot on 100 % at that age nothing to gain , but injury ,embarrassment and stress to your organs.
I was a fan of Levrone's mentality until 2003.
WoooSHHHHHHHHH
-
Wow, maybe that explains why his chest was looking so weird overall. He had to take it easy or stop training it altogether
-
He was in a war!
Went through a hell.
-
If Fagsulina had an injury he would cry for days on instagram
-

I agree, quitting was never an option in his mind. Awesome.

This.

Yates tore everything and kept winning the Sandow.

Not after a 16 year break from consistent training and closing in on 60 years of age he didn't.
-
Respect!
-
Why does the monitor on the video during the prp session say 01/20/2012? Did he do some voice over editing and make up some shenanigans?
-

A week out he claimed to have benched 405 for 10 reps

Oh shit killer find...

I spotted that too

Heart of a lion!
Wut? He had a transplant..? Or did he eated it?
-
I would think those machines would have the correct date. Am i wrong?
-
Looked great at the finals. Something went wrong going into prejudging, he looked way better at the press conf. and the next night.
-
We had at work a machine which monitor showed year 1999 because that's where it was 'programmed' to end :D
That's also public American hospital, not a fucking Tokyo.
-
He keeps asking what the date is, totally overdoing it, and then the date is off. Guessing he learned some editing skills in acting school to mute the real vocals and add in what he wants. I was really into his comeback, but it is what it is, no need to make shit up to justify the 16th place. I don't think anyone that has a gym education past the 3rd grade thought he had a chance to win. Super impressive none the less and inspiring to see a guy at whatever age he is make the grind to come back after that mockery video he did of himself. I was actually into the show because of him this year. Now watch Shawn make a run in the midget class...

Looks like a Mirage Hotel room 7 rug burn
-
I kept saying that he looked much larger in the upper body up until May and then he began looking smaller and smaller. We now know why. He couldn't train as heavy as he had been up until the pec tear. His pics from December-May were of a guy who was looking like he was going to be another mass monster onstage this September (minus the legs), but it wasn't in the cards. Props to him for continuing to train even through the injury. Mad respect.

he was getting paid to do this, what choice did he have...
-
Did the pec tear stop him from leg pressing?
-
did ninjas cause the pec tear?
-
Still would of had no legs.
-
I said numerous times he should have gone lighter and higher reps.
Stuff like behind neck press with 3 plates is just asking for trouble ...
-
Excuses Excuses...
-
Did the pec tear stop him from leg pressing?
Surgeon only allowed leg press sets a few inches....
-
Would be hilarious if he used a purple marker :D

Kevin can have the best genes in the world, but he is still 52yo. What the hell do you expect from him? to perform like he is 25?

still those pics the next day looks awesome again for 52 and the contest lay off.his mm pose looks almost intact to early 2000's.he looked happy overall ,,maybe one more show next spring to see what could be,,
-
I respect that Kevin didn't disclose his injuries before the show. Just pushed through.
Father time.....he'll getcha!
-
how can anyone not respect this man? f*ck the haters
-
Kevin need to quit that oldshoolshit balls to the walls heavy training. He should focus on volyme, lots of lots of set with strickt nice form more intense, lighter weights. He will never change once he try it. Body will feel like 25 again! No sorness, no acing, no old tendon! Just great!
-

that's a double edged sword because without the heavy lifts he wouldnt get as big.
-

of course he would, you dont have to lift to the point you are tearing muscles of the tendon to gain size.

Palumbo said that he spoke to Levrone nearly everyday throughout his 2016 Olympia prep. Palumbo said that Levrone gauges his progress by how much he can bench press. About 1 week out, Palumbo had Levrone on his program. Levrone said that he was benching 405LB for 10 reps.
So, Levrone's chest was healed by Olympia time. But it did look a little dented.
-
Let's face facts. IF levrone tore his pec, it would've affected his UPPER body far more than his LOWER body. But his delts and arms were his best body parts as always. So the pec tear excuse is total BS. And of course the fact that he was pressing 405 for reps on video 2-3 months out. Basically, the dude has picked up weights and lifted over the past 5-7 years but hasn't done a single squat or deadlift. Did he get last or did he finish ahead of Pakman?
-
Kevin doesn't always tell the truth.
That said...IF this is true, then more power to him for getting onstage. Although I did read another Instagram post where he was talking about Quad Tendonitis and then saying that's why his legs weren't there.
Hmmmmm....Not buying it.
