I think this was in prep for the '75 O. How much is on the 45 pound bar?
-
Looks to be about 115lbs
-
Looks like 75kg /165lbs/ plus the weight of the bar/15 or 20 kg/.

Exactly, and he bar shouldn't be more than 15 kg.
-
It's not an olympic set so the bar probably isn't 45 lbs/20.5 kg...Olympic bars and collars are precision made to a certain weight.
-
Old style standard bars are about 3 - 3.5lbs per foot, the bar is probably a 6', so 18 - 21lbs, add 2-4lbs for the inside collars too. Figure at most maybe #25lbs for the bar.

This is '73 or '74. In 1975 the train painting on the wall (above the mirrors) was painted over white.

I'm thinking about opening up a gym with only fake weights. It would be a sanctuary for boosting the egos of emotionally fragile off-cycle bodybuilders.

Great idea... now Leverone could put 20-30 plates on the leg press and do full reps.

I did curls with 80 kg for 4+2 at my peak very long time ago.
Decent form even if I recall correctly.
Just wanted to share.

I did 80 kg x 5 with an overhand grip, EZ bar.
A little jerking but not too much.
I was stronger with the overhand.
-
70KG for strict 3 reps. I prefer dbs though, seated curls with the 32 kg for 8
-

There is at least 3 size of plates in the picture, so what are they? Largest seem to be 50 lb, then 2 x 25 lb and 4 x 12.5 lb per side + weight of the bar, meaning 300lb + bar.
-
There aren't any #50's on the bar(standard #50's are pretty close to Olympic #45's in diameter), but its hard to judge the weight on these bars. #25's and #20's are close enough, so are #12.5 and #10's. So I'll just go with heavy :).

There is some olympic size 20 and 10 lb plates at my gym, made from some kind of foam-material. 20 lb is 3" thick and 10 is 1", but diameter is full size. Biceps curls look impressive when using bunch of those, sheer size gives you some boost to do few reps more. ;D
-
i get 2x 25lb, 4 x 20lb, 2 x 15lb, 6 x 10lb plus a 25lb bar = 245lbs.
-
he wasnt called arnold strong for no reason

Now with my quad injury I can only do sitting bi exercises.....it's a back-down-to-earth experience how little weight can be moved in a very strict no-cheating sitting db curl set of 15 reps....... :-\

Are you blind, gimmick ? Saying that strict form lowers weight extremely.

Seriously. And those small curl bars barely weighed 20lbs. Sometimes even less.

Yes, you are smoking crack. This is what 315 lbs looks like. Arnold is not curling that. My guess is he is curling around 120 lbs there.

Only morons like you could mix those to olympic plates and barbells..

There is dimensions in that York Barbell ad: "Largest plates are 18" ", so 100 lb and 75lb are both 18", and 50 lb plate must be smaller = largest plate on the picture of Arnold..or not. We never know.. ;D
