Sorry, but how the FUCK did he beat Casey Viator, Tom Platz, Bertil Fox, Albert Beckles, Mohamed Makkawy, Frank Zane and Samir Bannout? All of those guys were better than him. Dude should have finished dead last (16th place like Kevin Levrone). He looked way better in 1980/1981 btw (for him).

he is the oldest winner in the history of the Olympia. Good time to say good bye....in These days the Money was not "so big" for
a Mr. Olympia winner than today (less sponsorship, less Price Money).
on the other side...his win in London was not a clear one.....Viator, Samir Bannout deserved the win as much as Dickerson.

that olympia was the best casey viator looked for a show, alot thought he should have won
he retired after that moved to arizona and opened a personal training business.
casey pretty much dropped out of the scene after that. btw arnold s, always had good things to say about casey in his books. i talked to casey a few times as well

Dickerson had won every other major title there was to win. The Olympia was the only one left.
He almost quit after losing to Columbu in 1981. But, Bill Pearl convinced him to give it one more try. Dickerson did so and won it all.
Once he did that, he had nothing left to accomplish, much like older football players who have great careers but are missing a Super Bowl ring. Once that get it (i.e. Jerome Bettis, Michael Strahan), they call it a day so they can go out on top.

He was 43 in 1982 when he won, and remains the oldest person to have ever won a Mr. Olympia title. Ronnie could have beaten that record by a couple of months had he shown up in 2007 as he looked in 2006. It would have still arguably been a gift over Victor Martinez, but worse judging decisions have happened - such as Jay winning the Mr. Olympia in 2007 over Victor. :P

All the pics I've seen there's always a few guys way better than him. He had a good back and calves, looked shit in any pose that involved him lifting his arms up.

Interesting. I think in that sense, you could say that Ronnie was the oldest person to hold the Mr. Olympia title.
The oldest person to win the Mr. Olympia title would still have been Dickerson though.
Ultimately it would depend on what way the record was worded.
