You get it by paying your dues.

It's a term described to the look of the physique. Shawn Ray had excellent " muscle maturity " despite not training for years on end. It's the appearance of muscle that one would expect with years and years of training. Fit and finish , all muscles fully developed and detailed.

Shawn Ray excellent " muscle maturity " Big Ramy not so much. Take a look at this pic of Shawn 21 ( edit ) years old and not even a pro yet and his physique has the look of a seasoned pro.

Thanks

But, isn't that very, very subjective? Branch Warren has been a pro for decades and he looks like melted rubber.

I always interpreted it as being hard dense muscle that is very lean and not bloofy.

A retarded nonsense meaningless term ???

It really is , it's like when people say Ramy needs to come in better condition and that will better his placements but that won't change a thing. " muscle maturity " is like everything else it's genetic. Ramy's legs will never look like Samirs not because of lack if trying but it's genetic. I do think Ramy's legs are just to oversized and that may be obscuring his development but like Wolf's calves and Dorian's biceps it's not something you can really improve on.

If Ramy had Samir's " muscle maturity " he would demolish anyone in this " sport " because he's much bigger than everyone else. The judges look at Ramy's physique and see a bunch of holes , he has the size , the structure but his conditioning and " muscle maturity " are lacking when compared to Phil and other guys , he looks like the proverbial diamond in the rough. His quads are way to big for his calves , his back is okay but not on par with Phil's in terms of detail , depth and polish.

" muscle maturity "

Not sure what you're talking about, the most striking difference here is detail, but this is a ridiculous comparison because the two men are in DRASTICALLY different lighting conditions.

And isn't that a pic of Roelly?

To be fair, I think most of the time people say someone has 'muscle maturity' they're just saying 'i can see lots of lines'

That is bloated, arnold dident have very great musclematurity...

Its about fibers, hardness, fullness, separations...some people have muscle maturity at very young age...its probably most about hardness, diet...

Cutler had it in his legs...but not arms soulders. Ronnie had it Everywhere. Dorian had it. Simply a matter of being ripped or not. Ripped all over true the muscles not like this...

David Henry is a maturity freak! Solid to the bone!

Sometimes I *think* I see muscle maturity, other times I think it's just a fucking made-up phrase that somehow kept getting passed around over the years.

"Muscle Maturity" is the reason Phil is winning. It's hard to describe, it's the density and quality of the Muscle fibers in combination with paperthin skin

I think this pic illustrates the maturity very well, the kind of density Phil has can only be achieved with decades of heavy compound movements, while Rhoden is toying around on the cable stations and Hammer Strength machines in Venice with Charles Glass ::)

heath is actually used as the number one example of NOT having any muscle maturity at all  ::)

its usually related to as quantity and quality of muscle fibers vs all pumped up glycogen and water loaded INSULIN / SEO bloofmuscle

you could also simply call it conditioning or dryness though  ::)
i dont think its actually a thing. its probably 90% genetic at least.

Not detail , development. The most striking difference here is development and conditioning. Lighting is negligible because under the same lighting Roelly would still be lacking development that Samir is showing in.

Lines? too broad a statement , I think when people refer to someone who has ' muscle maturity ' they mean a physique that is fully developed. Not really lacking anything , fit & finish and it's usually in regards to a pro who is relatively new who needs refinement in relation to one who has been a seasoned pro. But that's the misnomer because a person like Shawn Ray displayed a physique with great ' muscle maturity ' well before he even turned pro, so it's not really contingent on age.

muscle maturity is a stupid meaningless term what they should be saying is genetics some bodybuilders will just have weak backs, arms, calves etc no matter what they do and some bodybuilders will never will able to get that granite dorian yates condition no matter what  because of their genetics.
