Title: RIP - Author L. Rea
Post by: Vince G, CSN MFT on October 09, 2016, 06:20:53 AM
Man, he was a great friend and ally of the sport for many years running ALRI Industries.  Lived life on his own terms and one of the baddest mother fuckers ever to walk into the bodybuilding scene.  Never forget fellow Getbiggers.

He was actually quite a liar & pompous ass who's body was filled with synthol.

I have a friend who was in business with him & the stories he told me made my head spin.

Author/Scott was not a not a great friend and ally of the sport for many years & was not very well liked

Another brand of useless supplements that was popular for a day because of Heavy Muscle Radio's marketing efforts and another bodybuilder dead from stuffing his body full of everything but the stuff he was selling.

He wrote a bunch of drug articles and books under a pseudonym and gained some notoriety, used language that sounded learned and scientific but wasn't really. Launched a supplement company selling "legal" steroids, sometimes mislabeled, sometimes he sold herbals containing undeclared anabolic steroids... which were heavily marketed towards young kids. Then he transitioned to selling magical amino acids with ads that sounded scientific but were full of BS. My opinion on his "style" wasn't very favorable. Shady is the word that comes to mind.

Here's an example of his business practices

Shady with a capital S.

Trust me when I say he won't be missed by too many people that personally knew him.

From Laina Rea

It is with great sadness and sorrow that I post the passing of my husband Scott Jensen ( aka Author L Rea ) he had suffered and fought with end stage renal disease for years and finally lost his battle. I can only hope his children Zachary Jensen and Christina Crawford can find peace and healing in this difficult time. There will be a celebration of life event planned to rejoice in his life and his accomplishments. RIP- Author L Rea

From Aaron Singerman ...

RIP Author L Rea! Author was one of the very first people in the fitness industry to give me a chance. He paid for me to come out to his booths at shows and do live radio broadcasts. Author was a visionary in the supplement world, and wasn't afraid to take chances. I'm grateful for the time I got to spend with him, and for the chance he gave me to make money following my dream!

From Joe Tomas....

RIP to our friend Author L. Rea ... He did a great deal for our Industry and for bodybuilding. I had the pleasure of representing him and his brand/product, and had quite a few deep scientific conversations where I was picking HIS brain of course .. I learned a lot from this guy... I wouldn't change that for anything ! ... He will be missed.

He died of the AIDS, just like Derek Anthony.  Probably wasn't saved.
