for the last month, i have not eaten much protein in my diet. don't really know why, but i bet I'm barely getting 100 grams a day. no protein shakes, maybe one or two chicken breast a day. maybe three meals a day. and the kicker is, my body hasn't changed at all.
my strength in the gym is the same, maybe even a little stronger. i feel the same, my body weight is the same? my question is this??
WHY THE FUCK HAVE I BEEN STUFFING MYSELF WITH PROTEIN ALL OF THESE YEARS??????
one gram per pound of body weight? bullshit. when i think of all the jugs of protein i have bought over the years, i want to strangle someone. (weider mainly) i even went to the olympia expo and bought 200 bucks of those little
test tubes filled with red liquid protein, 40 grams per tube. boy what a sucker i was. no more, i have one jug of dytamize protein, and that will be my last jug that i buy.
-
The body can only utilize so many grams in a day and everything else is converted to heme synthesis, Glutahtione production (made of 3 diff amino acids), passed as waste in the urea cycle, and ultimately passed thru feces during heme breakdown and excess protein the body cannot use.
-
yes, that's about what I'm getting in now. maybe 100 grams. i really just don't care anymore. almost 60, but I'm still as strong on my lifts as i always have been. that's what has got me tripping. maybe my base has been built up from lifting and eating protein all
these years? i don't know. but i do know that i feel great, basically eating just three or 4 meals a day. not being obsessed with getting my protein in.
-
You don't need a ton of protein. It's a huge myth that won't die. If you are eating enough calories to sustain your weight and eating mostly whole foods, you will by default get sufficient protein. People have just been fed a line by the supplement industry for so long now that many refuse to think otherwise

60 yrs and just figuring this shit out.
btw there is no santa claus either.
good luck with all the kidney damage

You're not lifting heavy enough weights and you're not doing the right exercises. The issue is not protein. If you were lifting weights properly your muscles would be screaming out for more and more protein. As it stands now, your workouts are mediocre at best and the whole thing doesn't even matter anyways. If you're not walking into a room and lighting the place up with the sheer electricity of a magnificent physique maybe it's time to find more productive uses of your time. You "gym members" really don't get it.

I'm almost 60 bitches. yes i have a crew, we lift together and get some food afterward. and yes I'm their leader. 40 years pumping iron gives me that right to be the leader. the knowledge i have in my mind will blow you mutts out of the water!!!
so much for your 40 years of knowledge Dumbass!!

Protein doesn't have to be nearly as high as people think when it comes to bulking or maintaining. If you try to eat 100g on a cut, though, you'll piss your gains away pretty fast.

Well...last monday i missed my post workout meal after chest training. My recovery was a mess, soreness more than usual. I already noticed that for other bodypart.
Shitty post workout meal = shitty recovery. Not enough protein, more sorenes, shitty recovery.
Actually i'm eating 60/80 gr of carb e.d, and i can train two hour e.d. I get my energy from fat and protein.

Protein = Most overrated factor when it comes to BB
I guess I avg between 1 -1,5 g per kg of bodyweight these days and notice no difference compared to times I stuffed myself with 2 gr/pd and more lol
-
IVE always said 100 grams of protein is more than enough.
-
Yes.
Makes zero difference.
Getting bigger or smaller depends on calories.
But for those using steroids, their bodies can probably use more protein.
-
Mega protein = stupid... Just eat a balanced food diet, adding in fart powders and shit does nada... Plus you're over weight, drop some pounds to be more healthy...

And you're the leader of the pack...errr...your crew.

Overindulging on Protein is a big waste.
BUT a minimum amount, which you will have to find via a log, is absolutely essential. In former times poor people were only fed grains to keep them stupid and weak while the upper class had access to a diet "rich" in pro-teen.
