Title: Paul Dillett - Most bizarre genetics ever
Post by: Nether Animal on October 24, 2016, 03:57:44 AM
Being mulatto, Paul had many unique features. He had some of the best calves of all time, and great, complete legs overall (especially for his height). For whatever reason he couldn't pose, and had really crippling shoulder problems that probably limited his training, leading to his weak chest and delts later on. Either way, he had one of the best frames ever, with a crazy shoulder/waist ratio. Look at his traps in this pic  :o

After the '94 Arnold fiasco Paul seemed to lose something, and began to increasingly decline. He collapsed backstage at the '98 O and was gifted a NOC win later. After that it was over, with his 2006 "comeback" being a disaster that surprisingly few people talk about.

Strangest genetics ever. Paul would be shredded, but the muscle would hang off of him like fat, especially later in his career. When standing relaxed his back looked incredibly thick, but it wouldn't open up correctly in the back shots. I wonder if his shoulder issues made it difficult for him to bring his arms back far enough on the BDB? Either way his delts overpowered everything.

IMO his best year was 1993 (see pics).

Agreed. People in here think he's the definition of aesthetics. He always appeared awkward and not to mention the varicose veins. The Dorian nut huggers in here too, thinking he was aesthetic.  ::)

Paul was blessed with genes but didn't had the heart to go along with it. Lazy hebrew he was.

He took minimal doses of peds, according to Lee Priest.
Hence he never achieved his full potential.

One of the laziest pros ever, he lived off his genetics and drugs, was not very serious with diet and training.

The judges said he came in too heavy in 1993 (at 269 pounds) and they actually said the same thing of Kevin Levrone that same year (at the Mr. O.). Paul looked better when he weighed between 263-269 than he did when he weighed 290 onstage later down the line. He seemed to lack confidence in himself throughout his career. Just listen to some of his backstage interviews from the 90's where he was extremely soft spoken and unsure of himself.

Well, the judges are rarely a bastion of good recommendation. They pulled that same shit with CLAIRMONTE and he came in way heavier in '97 at the cost of crispness, and of course they mark his placings down.

Then you are worst than a naive teenager who thinks he can put on 10 pounds of muscle with whey protein his excuse is that he is young and doesn't know much about lifting, what's yours.

I've never seen someone so bad at posing that he becomes narrower in the most muscular. I wonder if he has some kind of nervous system problem that prevents him from contracting his muscle properly, because I can't really believe that his inability to pose properly was due to pure laziness. Maybe he just went too far with the diuretics and fucked up his sodium channels.

Somehow standing relax , he was the most impressive and Asthetic freak monster of all time.

But it's true , when he was posing his structure was weird. To say the least.

Even more odd is he got that way being a very lazy trainer and he did not use heavy weights.  All drugs.

Nasser was similar. Crazy thick lats from the front, but his back sucked.

This pic is not photoshopped.

Paul was a Freak!!! His doses not high at all ,like all he experimented with all the normal protocols. he was lazy at times - but did train hard and heavy mostly with charles glass rico, cormier, flex. the guy was a giant huge thick and wide as a fuck.his back detail was his weakness and his posing. Paul was one of the more laid back pros. he would be seen gobbling up the huge firehouse cookies very very close to shows in the late 90s (99 before his noc win)

They did the same thing with a 1982 Bertil Fox (the original MASS monster) and then he came in the following year 25 or 30 pounds lighter. Below is a 1982 Bertil Fox.

I didn't know Dillet was a mulato but that explain why he got a dog in the bfto 97/98. Regular black ppl don't have pet.

Agreed. As mentioned many times before... when he would train shoulders and arms at Gold's Venice while wearing a sleeveless (NOT TANK TOP) we would just look at each other and shake our heads in absolute disbelief.

Even at his worst, you could tell that Dillett was born to be a bodybuilder.  Look at that shoulder to waist ratio, at age 41 no less, and no doubt pulling a Kevin Levrone comeback, with months of training after years of hardly training at all.  Dillett himself stated that he was only bench pressing 135 when beginning his journey to the 2006 Montreal Pro show.

Again, look at that shoulder-to-waist ratio, as well as his long, large arms.  Very Goodrum-like:

Dillett's forearms are enormous.  Almost as large as his upper arms.  Is he smuggling heroin in them?
