80's pop beats all of the subsequent decades.  Easy for me to remember most of these.

Now ask me to name 5 iconic singers/bands from any subsequent decade and I will struggle.

That is hard - but most influential for me probably was (just thinking about it)

1) Billy Joel and his songs and incredible songwriting when I was growing up...
2) Pink Floyd - The Wall... in college
3) Genesis - The Genesis album...
4) Oingo Boingo - best concerts and great songs...

Gotta think more about others...

80's Music Rules!
From hair bands to Divas, you name them just about every Joe had a hit song, i dunno if it was the times,
every artist seemed inspired to produce good sounding shit that still prevails to This date.
Shit, All of my workout playlist on my ipod is 80's!
