Eating higher protein helps with satiety. High carb is going to make you hungrier.

Keto diet.
It isn't particularly easy to follow, but you will drop weight in a relatively fast manner.
High protein, high fats (healthy fats), but very low carb intake per day (think <50 grams/day).
Your body will consume all the glucose it has left, both available in your blood stream and also what glycogen you have stored away. Afterwards, once it no longer has an adequate source of glucose for energy, it will burn away at fat to produce ketones for energy.
Do it for a month and at the very least you can see 5-10 pounds strip away.

but youve been here for over 10 years shouldnt you've had numerous experiences with diets by now? or have you been bulking for over a decade?

I know what works for me, I can't tolerate no or low carbs, so I stick to medium carbs, high protein, low fat.Im always curious how people do it low carbing.Its a forum aka a meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged.I'm interested in others views.

The low fat part of your diet is what makes it difficult to stay on it. High fat/medium protein/low carb works well. I've lost a pound a week with no real stress. I retained a lot of muscle as well. Win/win.
Yes, it's all about calories in/out but some diets leave you feeling hungry all the time. A high fat one doesn't.

No diet at all, it was a 3 day 103-104 fever caused by a bad appendix. That was the most ripped I have ever been.

I stay pretty damn active throughout the day and eat sensibly so I never had to go on a real diet, but those whom I know who have to diet to meet bodywt requirements claim that the THREE DAY MILITARY DIET worked best for them.

And that one sentence alone is just about all I know about the 3 DAY MILITARY DIET, except for the praise from those who followed it.

The initial rapid weight loss on keto is 99% water. But if one sticks with it, the fat eventually gets burned off.

chick breast
lunch salad w/chicken or tuna no bread or fruit
dinner same as lunch
safflower oil + apple cider vinegar dressing
the occasional protein powder plus water, the occasional dry baked potato
no nothing else but water.
guaranteed to work if you stay on it for 4+ weeks

A PSMF a la Lyle McDonald's Rapid Fat Loss is the fastest way to strip off fat without losing too much muscle. Losing 4+ lbs of pure fat per week in the beginning is very typical. Fat, not muscle, not water. You will lose your sanity, however, eating nothing but chicken breast, egg whites, white fish, and green leafy vegetables for weeks on end. The periodic carb-ups give you some sanity, but not much. When I did the diet, I also suffered from nausea, headaches, and constant brain fog.

Yep. Had a ruptured appendix and was forced to live on an IV for 5 days. Lost 15 pounds and pretty much burned off any fat I had.

Besides that, I dieted on popcorn and grapes exclusively. Got in the best shape of my life. No joke. My cheat meals were risotto. LOL!
