I know people get a lot out of being in a relationship but for me it just doesn't work. When I get home, I want to pursue my own interests. There's a latent social pressure to be coupled with someone but the reality for me is incompatible with that - almost every single person I know is part of a couple and they all have one thing in common - they can never really expend that much energy on something outside the couple. Like they used to be able to, back when they were younger. Always, they have to return to the couple.
It's a little easier for me because I'm quite ugly and have a rather gigantic distaste for meeting new people - so my options are limited and I don't have much temptation to take me off this path, anyway.
