Hawk and Animal were heroes to me as a kid.

Animal was recently on Ric Flair's podcast. Referenced the bench press contest. Said the night before Animal legitimately broke his orbital socket in a match but still managed 505 on the bench. They worked this injury into the angle.

Met Animal in a bar in Miami in the Orange Bowl in the 90's. It was after Starcade I think. He was one of the thickest most massive guys I have ever seen.

I'll tell you a funny story about Hawk and Dr. Death told to me by Teddy Long.
Hawk and Steve got into an argument about something while on the road (Teddy couldn't remember what, possibly about a spot in a match) and both of them wanted to fight it out. For fear of getting arrested they rented a hotel together and had Teddy wait outside the door so nobody could come in or leave. Teddy said they both fought each other inside the hotel for over two hours before both guys left bleeding, laughing and heading straight to the bar. Teddy said when he looked into the room it was absolutely trashed. Lol.
Probably a typical day for those guys.

I heard a story that Kurt Hennig put combination locks on the Road Warriors car door handles. So, when they drove down the road, the locks were clanking against the doors the whole time.

I have posted this before. I trained in the same gym with Lex(Larry Pfol) before he started wrestling. He and Chris Duffy were training partners. Used to work in with both of them all the time.

It wasn't even really a fight at all.
Hawk was totally inebriated and could barely stand. Plus, this was at the end of his career and he was not the man he once was. They got into an argument, Hawk mouthed off to 2 Cold, they collided, Hawk got punched a few times and then it got broken up. It lasted only about 20 seconds and niether man was really any worse for wear. This was mostly another wrestling rumor that got blown up and 2 Cold went along with the hype. Reason? Because it got his name out there.
I know from sources who were there.
