But the starter for the vehicle is just 69 bucks.... ;D

A hammer to hit the starter motor with every time it sticks is even cheaper

Could be that you just need to tighten the battery cables.
What did it do when you tried to start it?

Vince Goodrum, mft, bbc mtc, dde etc etc and warren buffett, one thing these two very successful businessmen have in common is although they are very wealthy individuals they drive normal cars.

Like TA said, check connections first. Then battery, ideally load test, but could charge/jump/parallel another on and see what's what before firing the parts cannon.

Oh, I put a new Duracell Battery in it last month so it definitely wasn't it. Just turned the switch and no cranky panky. I'll fix it Monday when I have time as I still have Taurus to drive around.

You still have to read the new battery to rule out a current leak or bad alternator. Get reads on the starter as well to prove connections and relay.
You haven't stated any numbers so I'm guessing you don't own a multimeter. The dirt cheap ones are fine for yard mechanics so go spend a big $10. It's an essential diagnostic tool. Maybe it'll turn out to be the starter but without some readings you're just guessing.
There's a whole 'thing' about voltage specs across starters if you're feeling that dedicated. Starter brushes are easy. Some solenoids are serviceable, some aren't.

You're welcome, rude ass.

Fuck did you start the thread for then. Good luck with your shit.

Try to jump it....if it runs it's not your starter but battery

Vince, will you change that starter yourself? Im soooo lazy these days, w/ our 5 cars, I pay to have everything done. (Even oil changes).
(I have 2 cars, wife and 2 kids cars (3).. So 5 vehicles to maintain.
1. I work long hours, though I do have of it at home.
2. On weekends, wifey and I like to go out, party, etc...
3. Im pretty lazy when it comes to shit like that.

Until that glorious day I'll just have to keep doing the work on my own vehicles. Which all start.
My favorite part was
I'll fix it Monday when I have time
He was fucking around here for like 2.5 hours. I know. I was fucking around here for 2.5 hours. But I can. Because all my vehicles start.
Unnnnnggh, I'll just think about it later.
Good call. That's totally a solution.

It's not like I just gave him some ok advice. What I gave him is the correct answer. You read voltages until you identify the fault, and you do it before buying parts. That way you buy the right parts.
I demand satisfaction.

Safest most reliable way to check voltage is straighten a paperclip, wet it and stick it on the part your testing.
