The FBI's much-trumpeted new scrutiny of emails related to Hillary Clinton has turned up nothing that would cause the bureau to recommend charges against her, the bureau's director, James Comey, has told Congress.
Nine days after rocking the presidential race with word that a new trove of emails had been discovered, Comey sent a brief letter to Capitol Hill that, in effect, put an end to the renewed controversy.
The letter said that agents "have been working around the clock to process and review" the emails, which had been found on a computer owned by former Rep. Anthony Weiner, the estranged husband of Clinton's close aide Huma Abedin.
"During that process, we have reviewed all of the communications that were to or from Hillary Clinton while she was secretary of State," Comey wrote. "Based on our review, we have not changed our conclusions that we expressed in July with respect to Secretary Clinton."
In July, Comey sharply criticized Clinton for being "careless" in handling classified materials but said there was no basis for bringing any criminal charge against her.

He didn't say the probe was over. He said they didn't find anything that changed the FBI's conclusion in July.
He, essentially, washed his hands of having an influence over the election. Remember, there are still active investigations of the Clinton Foundation. He'll probably resign or get fired before those are resolved.
Any way you slice it, it's an embarrassment. I don't blame other countries for laughing at us.

The Investigation was a joke from the start: no Grand Jury, and all the witnesses given immunity and allowed to destroy evidence. Comey, then, comes back and says there wasn't enough evidence. Yeah, no shit.
If the FBI presses forward with this, it will just highlight that the initial investigation was a sham.

My first thought when all this came up again was that they were going to do this simply to tell the ignorant people that, "Look, we looked again and still nothing wrong. We did our job. Vote with confidence".
Then people began to say there is no way that they would get it done that fast so I began to think that spineless Comey was playing both sides so that he would end up looking good. If Trump won then he could point to them opening it up again since Trump would destroy her hard and if Hillary won then it could be closed again.
Looks like I should have stuck with my original thought.

There does not need to be anything from the FBI or anything like that.
Hilllary will not win because she does not have the votes. Its as simple as that.
Trump already has North Carolina, Florida, Nevada, Iowa, Ohio.
From there its easy and is ahead in all the other states that will put him over.

"I was an officer in the military for several years. While posted at a regional command, I had access to classified information on the SIPRnet system. Here are the steps I had to take if an email contained "Confidential" information, below secret or top secret:
1) Open cast iron combination safe 2) Remove classified hard drive 3) Insert classified hard drive into classified computer with only a secured connection 4) Send email via secure email protocol 5) Remove hard drive 6) Put hard drive back in vault
These are part of the procedures for only a Confidential email, it gets more elaborate for more sensitive information. For example, I had to be sworn in to different programs and if we EVER printed anything classified, we had to slap a fat red classified cover page on it and destroy it immediately after use.
Had I sent one of those emails to my private email account or had a maid print it off, I'd be in jail right now. Somehow the government is omniscient and omnipotent when it comes to peons like us, but if you're a cackling corrupt Clinton, it's all good."
