Title: Congratulations
Post by: Primemuscle on November 09, 2016, 06:39:41 AM
Congratulations to all the folks who supported and predicted Donald Trump's presidential win. Congratulations to President Elect Donald Trump.

Like a lot of folks, I was shocked by the presidential election results. As most of you know, I supported HRC, expressing this on Getbig, in my personal and professional life and with contributions to the her campaign. My political ideology has not changed. Many promises were made to the all of us by both candidates during their election campaigns. It is my intent to continue to support those things I believe are good and right and to fight for them.

Looking forward to the next 4 years and hoping for the best.

I am somewhat surprised he won.  I would have bet anything on him losing a year ago figuring it was as safe as bet could ever be.  But, in the last 6 months i felt he had a chance to win.  It just seemed that nearly every one i talked to was either not voting or voting for Trump.

I didn't vote for either of them.  I think Trump is an pompous egomaniac. I don't think he's smart nor do i think he can make wise decisions.  Now i can only hope he does those things.

But there were things Trump was saying and doing I liked.  He comments on Trade and the fact he wasn't part of the political establishment is appealing.

-  I hope he repeals or greatly modifies the ACA
-  I hope he addresses trade issues and helps bring jobs back to America
-  I hope he gets us out of the Middle east
-  I hope that Iran deal gets redone
-  I hope the fact that he won causes change in our political system in general making it more representative like it used to be.
-  I hope he doesn't build a wall because that's just plain stupid
-  I hope he goes after employers who hire illegals

Very nice, mature and classy of you!  You are a good sport.

I am not one of the getbiggers who predicted Trump would win.  I just hoped Hillary would lose.  Still, very classy of you!

Was a Clinton supporter, as well (maybe a bit more reluctantly than you). I said a few days ago that  I knew that the polls leading  up to the election were going to be wildly inaccurate but hoped they would favor her. Still, I was prepared for her to lose. She was too imperfect a candidate and he had hope and the zeitgeist on his side.

I wasn't as invested in this election as I've been in the past few elections, so I'm not really feeling any kinda way today. Just hoping for the best for the next 4 years, too. Gotta admit I haven't had a lot of patience for lib/progressives in real life and on social media who think we ushered in a new Nazi era.  I don't think that's the case.

I think we disagreed on this in a previous thread, but I don't think the negativity that surrounded the majority of his campaign was a media creation.  I don't know if it was you or another poster who said that he was a genius and that my problem was that I got all my news from the msm/ liberal media, but even posters on here like Coach and Soul Crusher were hesitant Trump supporters, or at least pretended to be. These are guys who will buy into any conservative/anti-Clinton/anti-Obama point of view. I haven't been following how Beach Bum evolved on Trump, but at one point he was negative on him and didn't think he could get the party nom.

I think he was his own worst enemy at the start of a campaign against a strongly disliked candidate.  I didn't really post much political stuff over the election cycle because I was anti-Trump and kept thinking if he acts even slightly presidential for a few consecutive weeks, he'd probably start to lead polls decisively.

I'm a widower who is a senior citizen.

Legalized unions between same sex partners is a concept I support. Requiring churches to preform marriage ceremonies when it is contradictory to the religion's doctrine is something I do not support. I also don't support bakers being fined for refusing to make a gay couple a wedding cake, etc.

I don't WikiLeak because I don't like Julian Assange or support the WikiLeaks concept.

Most all politicians will say what they believe the majority of their supporters want to hear. This includes HRC and President Elect, Donald Trump. It is also the reason we are so often disappointed with elected leadership after they take office.

If the Clintons hadn't acted like neocons who pretend to be populists, this wouldn't have happened.  They're liars and they got what was coming to them.  Adios, assholes.

No respect. Voted for corruption and admits he didn't read wikileaks. He doesn't support the concept but can fully support the concept of a criminal in our whitehouse including giving money to her campaign. Knowingly voted for a criminal and hoped she became our president. Nice words doesn't make up for that besides admitting that you made a mistake by being ill informed.

I want to join Prime in congratulating the Trump voters for the win.
The election is over and everyone voted according to their own judgment.
Refusal to be gracious AFTER the election is OVER only makes more stress and division.

Sorry you find it necessary to be such a crabby ass person. Did I say I made a mistake? I believe I did not. The only mistake someone makes in an election is not voting at all.

The problem most of us have is not the difference of opinion, but the blatant ignoring of obvious corruption. That should cross beyond political lines.

Then again, she did get 10 of millions of votes. So, you're not exactly in exclusive company.

News flash, many if not most politicians regardless of party, are somewhat corrupt, in that they do and say whatever works in order to try and be elected or reelected.

Why are you not celebrating your candidate's win instead of hashing over things over which you have no control? Is the momentum you built up while defending Trump by discrediting HRC and her supporters so great that you can't stop it now that all is said and done or are you so enmeshed in the Getbig negative culture you feel this must remain your focus?

While I have no problem congratulating Trump and his supporters on a successful election, you appear to have a problem accepting it.

Yes, because these people have no idea how to think "forward". When I started this thread earlier today, I did so with the best of intentions. There was nothing sarcastic in my opening post. I meant every word of what I wrote. Nothing has changed. Trump is the president elect. I am able to embrace and support this because I am a futurist. Why some folks feel they must stay mired in the past, rehashing old agendas, be they HRC or Trump supporters, is a sad comment about where they are coming from.

Regardless of who I supported, I will not go down with the ship. We elected who we did. Sorry to say Hillary, is old news. at the moment.

Just to be absolutely clear about where I am coming from once again, HRC is and was/is no angel. Likewise, Trump will most likely not end up being anyone's savior.

Pay attention to Trump's acceptance speech. He's moved on. Why in the hell some of you cannot is baffling.

"How did this happen?!" they cry.

You want to know how this happened? You want to know how America resorted to bigotry and racism(all totally false) ? You want to know how we let a TV star with no experience get to the White House? You want to know why we couldn’t stop being stupid enough to listen to what you had to say?

I can explain.

Ten years ago I never had to tell somebody my wife was black and children were of mixed race to get them to stop assuming I was racist.

Ten years ago I didn’t have to tell somebody I’m bisexual to get them to stop assuming I was being homophobic.

Ten years ago I didn’t have to tell people I’ve read the Qu’ran to get them to stop assuming I was ignorant of Islam.

Fifteen years ago I had pride in my nation.

Twenty years ago I didn’t have to worry about the government spying on my because I sat next to someone suspicious on a plane.

Twenty years ago I didn’t have to worry about getting kidnapped for being an American in most other countries.

Twenty years ago 50 corporations made up 90% of the media market; today its 6. https://sli.mg/EEe5Yq.jpg

Thirty years ago people weren’t being attacked by animals in the streets over who they voted for.

This is the country that brought the world electricity, the light bulb, that tamed the last frontiers in the world, that carved the faces of great men into mountains, that brought us powered flight, that broke the sound barrier, brought Europe peace after the most destructive war ever seen, tried to play nice but brought forth a fury never fucking seen before when we were attacked, sent men to the fucking Moon. But something happened.

We began intervening in other nations’ conflicts. We started trying to develop this network of power across the world. We started fighting wars for money. And when we were attacked harder than ever before, we pulled our punches and used it as an excuse to fight somebody that wasn’t even responsible.

We voted for change and change never came. We voted for the young charismatic man, and he sold us a bridge. He was given near complete power to bring change and what he brought us was a hamfisted attempt at health-care reform that he didn’t understand and we didn’t want. He promises change from the needless wars and brings us anonymous murder from above on an unprecedented scale. And because he happened to be President when gays got the right to marry, we are supposed to think of him positively?

Let me ask you, when was the last time you heard a song written with this much national pride?

We are tired of being led down the path of shame. We are tired of fighting other people’s wars. We are tired to the globalist network of power. We are tired of the oligarchy. We are tired of being undisputably the single most powerful nation to ever exist on this Earth and yet not being able to win the wars that corporations, industries, and oligarchs get us into because our leaders want to pretend war is an opportunity to be culturally sensitive and play nice.

But when we try to voice these concerns and desires we are called racist because the person we disagree with is black. We are called sexist because the person we disagree with is a woman. We are called homophobic for saying there are bigger priorities for the President than deciding who uses what bathroom. We are called Islamohobic for expecting our ultra-powerful military and police might to be able to provide us security. We are called rednecks, and fools, and morons, all because we disagree.

And we are told we should not disagree, because the “experts” say so? Like Nate Silver, who has been wrong about everything since 2012? Who was wrong about the results of the 2014 Midterms, the Brexit vote, the Primaries, the World Series, and the General election? I’m only an amateur analyst and I outperformed him.

We should just believe CNN who has been proven to feed information to political parties? Who orders their focus groups on how to respond? Who cuts the audio from anyone that strays from the narrative they sell?

The pollsters, who were so incredibly wrong about 2012, Brexit, and 2016?

Why should we believe the “experts” who get paid more and more for being right when they can’t get anything right?

Then a man we’ve known for decades shows up and decides to speak up for us - and you call him racist, sexist, homophobic, Islamaphobic, arachnaphobic and whatever else. But he speaks to us and for us. And you try to shut him up. You cast him as a reality TV star with no knowledge, while peddling Hollywood stars with no knowledge, as if Donald Trump has not been a household name for four fucking decades?

Then all the people we’ve been sick of, the Bush family, the Clinton family, the Obama Administration, the elite of the world and the market and media all of these people we have been trying to get to change team up against this man. And you think we can’t see through that?

You lied about polls and when we saw through it you called us paranoid. You lied about crime committed and called us paranoid. You lied about the medical status of a public figure, for fuck’s sake, and called us paranoid. Yet time after time when we were right, you just said “A broken clock is right twice a day!”

No.

Fuck you. This happened because we are so goddamn sick of you. We are so goddamn sick of not being heard. We are tired of being brushed off when we speak, so we don’t speak often. The Silent Majority.

Michael Moore of all fucking people, was the only one of you globalist shits to ever actually GET IT. You don’t fucking get it. Michael Moore, of aaaaaall people said words that brought me to tears because of how accurate he was.

    The media didn’t want him.
The GOP establishment didn’t want him.
    The pollsters didn’t want him.
    The globalists didn’t want him.
    The NeoCons didn’t want him.
    The Socialists didn’t want him.
The global power brokers didn’t want him.

But the people who are tired of fighting these wars our military isn’t allowed to win, tired of being robbed, tired of being taxed to poverty, tired of being insulted, tired of being slandered, tired of being lied to, tired of our livelihoods being given away, tired of being brushed off - yeah, US, we wanted him.

He isn't any of the things you try to tell us he is. We saw through it and you still lie even in defeat.

At the worst, he will be a message, louder and stronger than we have ever been.

And, at best, he will take us back to the Moon, up to the stars, build unrivaled monuments that will last centuries, bring back our jobs and our pride.

This man literally took on the world for us.

And I bet even if you read this, you still don’t get it.

Actually, I did listen to Trump's acceptance speech. I enjoyed when he made the horse racing analogy to Secretariat, kinda like I did a few days prior:

You're melting down hard, old man.

You see, Hillary is what's known in horse racing as a "Money Burner'" a horse that is frequently favored to win  races but falters in the end. It happened in 2008, against Obama, and it's happening, now.

You just lack the emotional maturity to admit that Hillary is a horrible candidate that never should have been nominated. With all the advantages she had, funding, party support, campaign experience, a corrupt justice department and media, and she still falls apart.

I'm looking forward to Libtards throwing her under the bus when she loses.

In order to move on to the future, you have to uncuck yourself first.  You are still going on believing false narrative without any facts.  You are still thinking Hillary is not a criminal when its clear she is.  You are still thinking Trump is whatever ism you feel like hurling at him at the moment, when he isn't, you still think he has no plans when he has some of the most comprehensive ever in place already for a President-elect.

You are going to have to deal with that and more before you can move on or else you will just be here 4 years from now saying the same stupid shit as always.

This is one of the most moving pieces I've ever read. Let me say that I "get it" 100%. This describes utopia. Tell me that this is possible, please. In all the centuries that humans have been ruling/ruining the world we all inhabit,  no clear "fix" to the human condition has surfaced.

Frankly this is so much bigger than who won the U.S. presidency yesterday  that it makes a mockery of every single human being who has  no vision.

If Trump is our savior as it appears someone believes from your post, then I reply that this savior is long overdue.

Honestly, do you believe that  "the Donald" is up to the challenge?

Thank you for this insightful post. It is a rarity around here.

I am fascinated by how you think you are in my head when you absolutely aren't.  Carry on....although I don't get why you feel the need to do this. In this post you have managed to put more words into my mouth than I ever would have thought of.

What really strikes me a being hilarious is that you absolutely do not get me in the political sense. I am not in anyway looking for Trump to fail. I am looking for this country being a better place for all of us in every respect.

Because doing so would admit error and ignorance.
Instead, he attempts to defuse the situation by painting all politicians with the same brush, and accusing other people of being irrational.

I've always said that one of the most often-used tools of Liberalism is deflection.

One more point:
I AM "celebrating" my candidate's win, but we must also now be realistic and hold our President-Elect accountable for his performance.

More than celebrating Trump's victory, I am celebrating Hillary's loss.  Only Trump could make that possible, and for that I am thankful.

However, I am not satisfied.  The entire Clinton family still must be tried, convicted and locked up for all their crimes.

I agree! Been wishing that for decades, but...
The corrupt Clinton's have always been above the law.

Maybe that will change.
Hopefully that will change.

"Hope and change" - I'm finally on board.
