2001 Olympia. Let his top 10 placing get to his head and listened to advice from Chad and bulked up super huge in the offseason. Was never quite the same
-
He looked pretty good back then. Imagine him trying to do the robot posing these days ;D
-
Kamali best years were 98/99 as an ametuer
-
He never had aesthetic flow, and arguably the shittiest looking arms in BB history. The guy came on these boards as a cocky and arrogant noob, thinking he'd take the O shortly. Funny how the nationals would be the only show he'd ever win.
-
I doubt Chad ruined him. I think he had aspirations beyond what his body could give and if it wasn't Chad who gave him the guidance, it'd have just been someone else.
I can't fault him for shooting for the stars - but it's a shame, because if never tried to go further than that Nationals showing, he might not have had so much publicity, but he sure as hell would look a ton better, now.

And yet his "friend" Rob Lopez never won his Pro card, while arguably looking better than Kamali ever did.
-
Wasn't Lopez like a middleweight? This was back in the '90s, getting a pro card at that size was a pipe dream.
-
Looking svelte and tight here. He's gonna give people a taster of what's to come in 2017, can't wait

Kamalis not done yet. He's back in the gym, growing like a weed, looking to claim his rightful place on the throne.

2002... you can see he actually seems to have lost size. Lot of good the bulking did him.

i believe chad told him he had to get to 300 lbs for him to work with him
that ruined kamali. wtf was him and nichols thinking for that matter
-
Perpetual punch-able face on this bloke.
-
1 year later and palumboism had started

I fear for King's health.

I saw Shari in the gym and he's short and looks like garbage, me and Andrew bryniarski had just blazed like 3 joints and I turned to him and said how is this mf even a pro?

He claimed 5'9.5" on Pro Bodybuilding Weekly, in 2005.
I met him in person in 2007, and I think he was at least 5'7...but most likely not taller than 5'8.5", which is my height. My hair is bigger, so it's hard to say if that factored in. He was not 5'9.5" though.

And by 2003 the midsection was palumbowned beyond repair.

Maybe 5'9.5" with 2" boots on. Dude was/is short.
