Title: Jay CUTLER - 2004 Olympia
Post by: Nether Animal on November 15, 2016, 06:35:38 AM
Jay came in big this year rebounding from his overdieted performance at the Arnold. I would say this is one of his better showings, but '06, '09 and '01 are better.

If Ronnie wasn't around, Jay would've won 10 Olympias.

In '04 Ronnie was just too damn big for Jay to have a chance. Look at those quads.  :o

As large as he got, he had NO vascularity and really set the standard for the large but SOFT modern day bodybuilder. He was so overrated and would have come in dead last in the 90's.

Cutler was a monster in 99, personally i thought jays physique declined as the years went on except that one year he won the o no questions asked. I just believe by the time ronnie retired there was really no body in line for the next mr o

You mean '09? Even that year his conditioning was iffy from behind.

Some of his early Arnold wins were great too, but '04 he was too small.

Are you talking about Ronnie or Cutler?

Ronnie was dry and vascular at the prejudging. Cutler was the one who looked soft. Ronnie was water logged at the finals. If you look at the pics, Ronnie peaked at the Pre Mr. Olympia press conference & prejudging lol.

Yeah Ronnie was night and day between prejudging and finals in '04. He really screwed the pooch for the night show.

I was talking about Cutler. Ronnie was the definition of vascular.

Ronnie was ungodly massive in the 2004 Grand Prix shows, but as you can see his 2000 look destroys it, maybe due to the illusion of the smaller waist.

Great post.  I agree.  I recall him looking harder than ever in 2005.  As if it was the first year that he discovered Tren or something like that.

PS - I fear for Jay's health.

Everyone except Dexter. Guy was the most conditioned at the show.

Welcome back, Matt.  Glad to see you're still doing OK, some of us were beginning to fear for your health....

06 is definitely not better.  He should not have won the O that year.  Ronnie was still better, but Vic or Dex should have won in 06.  I would have had Jay 4th at best.
01 and 09 are the only two years I though Jay was any good at the Olympia.
