Title: LEVRONE - '98 Olympia
Post by: Nether Animal on November 16, 2016, 02:33:30 PM
Kevin was still huge all over at this point, I think '98 was his best year due to his NOC performance.

You can see he was a bit sharper at the NOC.

It's a shame to see him going through a mid-life crisis now, with the delusional come back and social media rants.

Kevin looked damn good at a legit 250 pounds. Can't believe he claimed 243 in 2016.. ::)

Was this the last year he had legs?

Not really, but its the last year his legs weren't noticeably declining.

According to Kevin himself, he first started having knee problems in 2000 which is around the time his legs started to decline. They remained passable until 2002.

It's hard to tell exactly when they started to decline, since he started going off cycle during those years and coming in smaller in some shows.

More '98. In hindsight, '97 was slightly bigger at points, but he was still monstrous here.

I did think the 1997-1998 "school year" was his best year".  Basically from the Olympia time to the Spring shows.

He may have had his best combination of conditioning with size at that point.  His legs and back were also huge - two areas which have since regressed.  Understandably so at over 50, but even in 2001, he was regressing in those areas.

So I would tend to agree with you on that.

His back had regressed greatly by 2000, even.

Sad how far he's regressed. As I have said, his comeback has severely tarnished the memory of what he once was. The man is a fool.

Ronnie was listed at 247 lbs at the prejudging and was probably at least 5 lbs heavier at the finals. So I really have to question Kevin on the weight he said he was in 1998.

Kevin is known for lying about his weight. I'll leave this here.................

Craig Licker was in that show ??? ??

Btw, those shots of kev in the blue shorts up top of the page looking awful lot like him in 97 Olympia

I think it's pretty much agreed upon that Kevin's best ever was the 97 Grand Prix where he progressively pissed out all the water he was holding at the Olympia and supposedly did so on a steady diet of Jack Daniels LOL. I believe that's also the year that Cormier said Kevin misplaced or lost is fanny pack thing containing all his cash that he won on the Grand Prix tore up until that point like like three shows Worth or something LOL I think he said they eventually found the bag though

I think its unlikely he was paid in cash...and also unlikely he cashed all his cheques and kept it in a bum bag.

You shouldnt believe all the stories you hear.

Nasser was listed at 275 and doesn't really look bigger than Ronnie at 247 too
