1955 Mr. Universe. Vince Gironda said that Leo had the best set of abs that he ever saw. That's saying something!

Was he saved?

Was he saved?
He was saved from using drugs to develop a great bod. Lived into his 90s. None of the drug users/abusers will live that long. Not even close.

One of the best from the old days, pre-Arnie...

When Leo was 25 years old, he was fat and out of shape. He decided to change that, went to a gym, and never looked back. Within two years he was a real physical specimen. People told him to go into bodybuilding contests. He did, and won! No drugs to rely on then, just hard work and good diet. Eat big, work out hard. He is reported to have done fasted cardio in the morning. Running or riding a bike, going slow until he felt the strength to really lean into it, for a power sprint. Then, he hit the gym in the afternoon. Interestingly, he went to a gym that had curved, rather than flat benches. That would have increased the range of motion, had you been looking to work your abs, and other body parts too. It worked for Leo, and all of the gyms that he owned had those same curved benches. All the old timers, such as Leo Robert, knew their shit, and got results way better than the druggies of today.

What was his diet like?
^^
Found it! He was like most back then on a Ketogenic Diet (perhaps why he had abs all year) * Steaks, chicken and good proteins supplemented by all known natural vitamin/mineral products then available to him. The tough exercise and diet, was combined with plenty of rest and relaxation to aid recovery and growth.

Do you think he ever imagined this being reality?
